Great Movie, and great historical scene.
All rights and music from the video are property of the respective owners, the video is been uploaded just with cultural purposes.
I don't think that I have ever seen a more graceful beautiful and powerful dance in my Life.
I recommend you watch Saturday Night Fever
@@JF-mp9xz SNF ( Oh look what my three year old can do) cheap, common , Obvious, un imaginative,
Have you tried to crank that Soulja boy?
I saw this movie one night by pure accident while flipping through the channels back in my first apartment. It came out on TCM, and I will never forget seeing this dance sequence and fascinated I was with it! Great movie, great dancing!!!
My sister and I would watch the old Tarzan movies and we were memorized by the tribal dancing of these people.
Little would I know that one day I would travel to Africa and see these tribal dancers with my own eyes!!
My favorite part of King Solomons Mines,,,,,,Awesome dance, magnificent people !!!!
I love it too since I was little now 62
Who's salmon, do Rwandese have a king called salmon?
I saw King Solomon's Mines when I was 8. I'm way past that age now and I'll never forget how magnificent, graceful and just soooooooo beautiful they were when they all danced!S. B.
The entire movie is absolutely wonderful. Stewart Granger and Debra Kerr. TCM runs it once in awhile. Go on line and check the forward schedules.
I finally realized watching this, that I literally go into a trance whenever I watch African dance... I don't know how but I felt at peace and wound up at the same time with him... with them all, and I was mesmerized.
It was very thoughtful of the Film maker to include such a beautiful dance . The African continent had and has a rich cultural heritage. But for this great item, I wouldn't have known this fact half a century ago.
Best part of the movie , ever since I was little and now 62
My goodness!! Goosebumps all over me.... Especially after setting my eyes on our historic Intore dancer; #Butera_bwa_Nturo!!
I have always been seeing his pictures but now seen him perform 👏👏👏. My culture, my pride!!
The tall leading dancer is called BUTERA son of chief NTURO son of NYILIMIGABO son of MARARA.
May I also add that this is not a tutsi dance but a rwandan dance. Performed by all.
can I ask you how do you know he's butera?
@@josephrurangwa3109 great !! nibyiza kumenya ibisekuru !! yari intore nziza kbsa !! ariko nta clan yitwa munana narinzi bana!
@@josephrurangwa3109 you are lucky yo kubona basogokuru bawe gutya!! ari aba jeune i mean hahahaha
Guillaume Rusengo Thank you for identifying him. Butera was a amazing dancer. I wish this scene was longer and we saw more of all of the dancers. And the landscape is utterly beautiful.
This is so beautiful
Absolutely stunning and graceful!!
This dance is real and is a Watutsi dance. I love the Architecture as well. It is all so beautiful. Cynthia McLaglen
This was the Kings palace, many structures like this existed throughout the Kingdom of “Ruanda-urundi”. King Mutara III was assassinated by the Belgians and his heir exiled to the US, dying a King with no country. The monarchy can be traced by written record over 1000 years to 1000 AD but oral history records it to years B.C.
@@johntrust6217 Thank you for this information. I saw this as a child and one of the scenes was in Kenya of a extinct volcano called Longonot. Cynthia McLaglen
@@johntrust6217 The Belgium King was horrifically involved in ordering terrible massacres, which is something I cannot understand. Surely this as not the start of Hutu and Tutusi massacres in history? Cynthia McLaglen
@@cynthiamclaglen5687 I hope I’m not too late, my notifications seem to not be coming in. Thankyou for this information Cynthia I didn’t know this either.
@@cynthiamclaglen5687 Dear Cynthia unfortunately this was the case. The Belgians found it hard to get their grip on Rwanda. Particularly with the Rwandan monarch in place, it was hard to exert rule over highly established levels of decentralised administration. So they set out to device the old “divide and conquer”. The French later took over and trained the Hutu government and militia to perpetuate the genocide.
I was 6 yrs old watching King Solomon Mine with my Mom.. Love this Movie 💘
I was sick one afternoon half sleep and this movie was on I thought this was a dream the dance of Africa always touches my soul KINGS
Very powerful
This is beautiful. So much was lost from the African continent. It's down to the modern generation to restore what was lost. The four giants are totally awesome.
I have seen this dance done in recent times on RUclips, but nobody beats that guy, Hats off 👍🏼
So good to find this on RUclips!
I can remember having to sit through the entire film, just to watch this part -- tremendous!
In her recording of 'The Jungle Line', Joni Mitchell samples the Burundi Warrior Drums; I think maybe there's a connection?
🙏🏼🌹🙏🏽
Barbara Weaver seen this a hundred times. Still watching.
Love this so much!!!
No instruments only the rhythm in their souls...
Beautiful culture
Fantastic!! Gives me chills ❤️
The watusi dance❤❤❤❤the best ever¡¡¡¡
❤And the movie 😢
💯🔥…Best part of the entire movie 🎥
I remember seeing this film when it was first released...
great film, saw it as a lad ,no political correctness ,these guys are just fantastic all we have is the Morris men
Intwatwa.pas tutsi dance
AMAZING AMAZING
At 1:01 he really starts feeling himself 🤣
That's Tutsi, not Tusti. The Tutsi are from the "great lakes" region of central Africa - Rwanda / Burundi / Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaire)
Great movie, just renTeD it.Some of the scenes Are bReAtHtAkinG.
Thrilling!
How tall was the lead dancer? 2:44
I felt like I was there in my former life. Am 🇰🇪Nyan btw. God bless all who made that movie come to be.

NICE.
One my all time favorite dance scenes
nothing but respect for the culture, but am i the only one that gets creeped out by this dance?
This one is a wow.
Rwanda 🇷🇼
It's not a tutsi dance...its a Rwandan dance.
@Nick Stiso im tutsi from Rwanda and i know this better than you.
@Nick Stiso hutu, tutsi and twa...we have one dance.
@terminal lance Rwanda is made up of hutu ,tutsi and twa. actually twa are the best dancers of all
This is an original Tutsi dance.
Has since become a Rwandan dance in the name of unification.
But it is a dance of the Tutsi tribe originally!
And that is a historical fact!
@@abocas No such thing as Tutsi tribe,it was more of an occupation/class.
Think Kshatriya in Bharat or Knightly class in medieval Europe.

"i whip my hair back n forth i whip my hair back n forth." love seeing traditional african dance and how it correlates with todays dancing. when i taught at an all black school, i realized just how important dance is to black culture. my kids couldnt help but dance. they were just *always dancing.*
So sorry the Tutsis were murdered by the Hutus. Hope they stay inside their own country.
Wakanda
Are they trying to mimic a particular animal?
A crane taking off, I have been told
yes a cow cows called inyambo
bro they vibin
Right here King 👑 Solomon mines bingo kingdom of Judah
Totally agree
ham
That dance is super scary very freaky
no it's not 😂🤣
They look as if they are wearing a wig of a blond white woman.😅
Even Blacks in Africa have this infatuation with blond wigs but this time it's the men. Is this where it all started? But I love the dance moves and I believe the dancers after having seen themselves on video no longer have to wonder why their audiences have looked so captivated all these years.
The blonde wigs are culturally trying to mimic a lions mane. It’s the cultural dance in Rwanda. Where the Tutsi were a ruling class during the monarchy error.
That's a lion's mane and its symbolizes bravery.
As others have pointed out its to mimick the mane of a lion, these ones are overly long i think for the dance, while originally they were shorter and kind of stayed up instead of falling to the back making the warrior seem taller and more intimidating.
@@michaelngoga9193- It's totally awesome and quite physical they must be very fit.
artificial dance for the moovie.
El mas alto hace dudar que los demas sean niños.
