Barry Bonds is the greatest player ever. No one else is even close. Voted the most valuable player 7 times, more than any player in history. Power: The all time leader in Home Runs King with 762, greater than Aaron, Ruth, and Rodriguez. Single season Home Run King, with 73, greater than McGwire, Sosa, and Maris. Speed: The only member of the 500/500 club with over 500 home runs and over 500 stolen bases. Fielding: 8 time winner of the golden glove award. Barry mastered the art of batting. A typical 3 game series he would average 15 at bats. Take it down to 11 due to 4 walks, then he goes 4 for 11 with a couple singles, a double and a homer. He did this consistently. Also consider he was only seeing a single digit amount of pitches actually in the strike zone the entire series! By far without question the best to step in the batters box.

My dad took my brother and I to ball games in the city all the time in the early 2000s. One thing he always stressed: you're witnessing history. You're watching a legend. Just like when he got to see ted williams and Dennis eckersley.
Other than bonds smashing homreruns into the cove, my dad would point out the intentional walks.
'look how fuckin scared they are of him. They don't wanna even wanna give him a chance. He's that good.'
I think witnessing THAT , being amongst other fans when that type of thing happened, was great. Made barry bonds seem like a real GIANT among men.
I love my father. This is something I'll never forget, and I hope to do with my children some day. Show them something great that they can say they witnessed when they become older.

By far, the best hitter ever! And the most feared hitter of all time. Barry Bonds was just so much better than all the other players of his era. In his younger years he was a great power hitter, outfielder, and unstoppable on the bases. In his latter years he had every pitcher figured out. He's the only player to be intentionally walked with the bases loaded.......ever.....
Baseball = cheating......all great players broke the rules in some way. As a baseball fan the critism is unfounded to me, and his greatness, dominance, and talent are to be admired

I live in Florida 4 time Zones away and every TV in the bars would turn to Barry Bonds at bats live. He usually walked or hit a historic homerun that made whoever caught it much more wealthy then they were before they had that baseball in their hands. Not to mention, there are so many players before him that took it and are already in the hall of fame. Regardless of what u think he did, he's still one of the best hitters, ever! Babe Ruth would drink before a game. Not to get drunk but to help him play better. Once u get a little bit, u feel less, u play loose and feel stronger. Wouldn't that be an illegal substance? I don't see anyone trying to tarnish his name. Leave Barry alone. He was a great player whether u think he took steroids or not. Sosa took steroids but did he hit 700 homeruns, steal over 500 bases and play his position at the highest level? What about Conseco? Didn't he take steroids?
