Good video, well done. Since it only took you about 10 minutes to diagnose the problem I would pull the valve cover and look at the valve train and intake ports. This might indicate the problem was the valves rather than the cylinder and therefore customer might pop for a head rebuild. Also borescope to check the cylinders. I did not catch the mileage, however if over 200k, agree, not pull the valve cover, just deliver the bad news. If you are into engine swaps check junkyard supplier for engine availability so perhaps you have that service to offer as alternative. PS I found your video because I am about to deal with similar situation on friends 2008 Passat. I do not have VCDS, just mid grade scanner so not sure I can find source of miss. If not I will just compression test all 4 cylinders.
hello my friend, my car is a 2006 model passat tdi after I changed the camshaft at the authorized service in Istanbul, my car never started, my car does not eat gas until it warms up, it twitches, the cycle clock never exceeds 1000 levels, what do you think could be the problem, thanks
If it never started how does it warm up? Confusing. Not sure I can really help as there was no tdi passat sold here in 2006 so I really dont even know what it is.
My car has the engine light on all the time I suspect the cat needs replacing but when it rough idles during driving periodically it seem to smoothen out like water in the fuel maybe a bad fuel filter .
I have the same issue, misfire on cylinder 3 (not continuous like this) but compression test is 115 PSI, and 125-130 on the other 3 cylinders. What is the diagnosis?
I have a 2017 Passat and my car keeps backfiring on cylinder 1 only when it starts. If I turn the car on and off about 5 times it stops misfiring. I changed the spark plugs and coils.
I have a 2010 Volkswagen Passat cylinder one misfire cylinder 120 lb compression replaced in ignition coil and spark plug two times cylinder 1 misfire in the light engine light flash on and off and stop and go back out

well done guys love the unedited stuff and good diagnosis process
Thanks for watching

No question in the paragraph above. Misfire?

I wouldn't consider 115 very bad compared to 125. Of course you didn't bother to say year make model or engine size.

Awesome stuff.
thanks! Courtland is doing GREAT!
that was some porno movie acting.....i thought they about to get it on
alllllllll-righty-then!
I have a 2010 Volkswagen Passat cylinder one misfire cylinder 120 lb compression replaced in ignition coil and spark plug two times cylinder 1 misfire in the light engine light flash on and off and stop and go back out
compression seems too low. What are the other cylinders?
@@CoolAirVw cylinder one misfire engine check light come on and shut right back off compressor
