absolutely amazing docu ... it must be a great pride and honor to be tattoed by one of the greatest ancient culture of Filipinos art. She's an amazing woman and she is really beautiful ...
we have many kalinga neighbors before in the mines ( Antamok Mines) form Mangale, kalinga, many of them are already ashamed of this tatooe in their bodies, thanks for promoting this dying culture and a voice that they should not to be ashamed of their culture
Beautiful, i've been interested in the tradional tattoo methods and have been following the Kalinga tattoo for about a year now. I wouldn't mind going just to get some shots and photos of these tattooists at work (i'm a photographer...) and so on.
I appreciate that good look at the process of inking one of these tattoos. If possible please let me know how you picked out the designs. I've tried to look up the various designs and meaning online but I've only seen one or two and I can't seem to find any books that go that in depth on the subject.
really? Im anxious! :D I wanted a tattoo like this since then, but some friends told me that only tribe members can get one, now that I have seen your vids I'm really gonna go there! :)) can I just walk in and have a tats or should I contact a local official? thanks.
nice Documentary..:)) really love it...i want to have it soon...:) i'll save a place in my skin to have that one...:)one of my inspiration in doing tattoo...thumbs up...:) how much is it andrea juanillo?
Hi !ii like the video ;) Im def looking to get some help on travelling up to buscalan with my brother. we 're arriving in phil in may and would like to get an idea on the best way to get to buscalan from manila. tuguegarao? is this tribe guide, Francis Pa-In? thanks
I really don't know if or when i can. All i know is i'd love to and it is on my list of things to do. It's a different style and method of tradional tattooing from say a Maori tattoo or Hawiian. But i can appreciate it and it's history....but i don't know what they'd be like with black people.
There are several books there about Whang-od & the Botbot tribe which also contain the designs & its meanings. These books were written by Filipino anthropologists & 1 by Lars Krutak. Yes, there are meanings to each design.
It is not advisable to go there alone so I would give you the contact number of the tribe guide when you go there. Just tell me when and I will give it to you. :)
Hi erik! You can shoot me an email on chitoandrei@gmail.com so we can discuss it there. Tell me what date do you plan to go let me see if we can go with you because we still want to go back at Buscalan this year. Yes, Francis Pa-In is a legit tribe guide, I know him. :)
