I've tried to look up the various designs and meaning online but I've only seen one or two and I can't seem to find any books that go that in depth on the subject.

Hi. Do you know the local Kalinga term for the soot/ink that Apo Whang-Od use? Is it 'Merteka' or 'Merieka'? I am really confused. I will use it for some school purpose so it'll be a help knowing the correct term. Thanks.

i am not quite sure. i hope somebody would acknowledge her effort in preserving this tradition and be awarded by tha national commission for culture and the arts the GAWAD MANGLILIKHA award. one kalinga in the name of Alonzo Saclag was awarded of the same for preserving and continously promote the cultural identity of kalinga through performances that includes the whole village, still practicing the traditions of kalinga. LET ALL HELP AND PROMOTE APONG WANG OD

i wanted to have also tats with centipedes, and other traditional designs who accordingly will ward off evils. i have a blood of a kalinga, my lolo came from tinglayan, luplupa kalinga. my father was also born at the same. but they migrated here in mindanao. i am one of the race of DONA-AL
