Priceless footage - Claydon now wiped off the face of the earth by HS2.

Yet they tell us the PW remains for possible reopening to link Aylesbury with EWR.
      Very shortsighted if they don't:/

This line should be put back into use back to bletchley, what HS 2 has done to the trackbed is a disgrace and why isn't it in the government finances to put it back into use,

The amount of land taken by HS2 around the Calvert area is ridiculous even allowing for the junction with East West Rail and a depot. The whole area has been ruined when a good deal of the old Great Central trackbed could have been used for far less cost and disruption.

@@reggiesmith3866 at least one good thing came out of Hunt's budget bletchley to Bedford got the money they need so east west rail said there going to fast track that section and all the track is in from Oxford to Bedford now all that needs to be done is the. Signalling to which they Dave already started on,

Not much needs to be done to the Marston vale line - just double track the bit near bletchley then sort out the debarcle of a junction at Bedford. It's already a working railway so surely it would have made more sense to link Aylesbury to Winslow? Imagine living in Aylesbury and needing a stinky car to go to bletchley or Milton Keynes. Tories always were the pro road and pro car party.

@@ianhosier4042 is it still single track at fenny Stratford,? Then there's the platforms will need extended on that line plus resignalling from bletchley to Bedford
