Simile is correct. Metaphor is incorrect. If i say the mythical tale of my life it is metaphor. Take any simile, drop the word 'like', change the order of the words and use 'of' and you can make it a metaphor. I have done a video on this: ruclips.net/video/6DUFs7ykKQw/видео.html
A Simile is a direct comparison using 'like' or 'as' to compare two things -e.g. the girl is like a rose. Here the girl and rose are different entities and we are saying one is like or similar to the other. A Metaphor is an indirect comparison e.g. the girl is a rose. Here the girl and rose are said to be the same and so the comparison is an implied one and therefore indirect.
