Excellent teaching. Please could you also add lesson where you will teach English descriptive words. For example: words referring to the act of looking - glance; peep; glare; etc Words to describe taste - sweet; bitter; sour;...et Describe walk- Word to Describe an act of asking love is to propose a girl. if a girl accept the proposal (which word to use??? ) . I think you'll understand what im trying to say. you may also include opposite words eg sit - stand up ; look - ?

This is a lot, I know but could you help😂😂 I'm not really getting them from reading and only a few are covered on RUclips, which I still didn't understand 😂😂😂... PLSS

California licensed attorney here. I'm a native speaking English speaker (my only language). I 100% understand the meanings of each of these literary devices described in the video, but I also do not have the confidence to correctly describe every speech accurately with the literary device used. In my head I think, "duh, they are not saying person X is actually a giraffe". I struggle with putting the name of the literary device used to explain why. HOWEVER, it's EXTREMELY important to be able to accurately label the type of literary device. Why? Because in English, sometimes, instead of repeating the phrase, we describe to others what was said by describing the literary device used in conversation with other English speaking individuals, as opposed to restating exactly what that person said. This description would come about in conversation like this: say person John tells me "Adam is as tall as a giraffe", and I respond, "that's not a fair metaphor of Adam, or "that similarity was hilarious", or "I've never heard of that idiom before". Notice that the name of the literary device is used as a reference (replaces/condenses) the actual language originally sated by John. If you describe someone's use of an idiom incorrectly as metaphor or someone's use of a metaphor incorrectly as similarly, many high level and professional English speaking natives will know and think you are far less intelligent. Those mistakes are 9.9 out of 10 times not something that an English speaker would ever correct you on (it's extremely rude... probably one of the most rude and one of the most patronizing things to correct another speaker on except if it's a close friend trying to help you). It's seen as rude and largely not corrected by the other person because of the implication -- that you don't know how to speak (basically that your are not as intelligent and they have to teach you how to speak). It's surely one difficulty to understand each literary device, but being able to correctly identify (and label) each device used in live conversation is incredibly important for high level English. Here I am as a native English speaking attorney coming back to relearn these concepts. VERY important if you want to be high level and present yourself in conversation without embarrassment. NOTE: you do not get "bonus points" (this is an idiom for "praise") for using the correct literary device. However, if you are incorrect, you will be judged very hard by an English speaking native, even if not consciously.

come on man, don't leave us hanging
Its a pleasure learning from you but I have a question is Kenny is a car a correct metaphor ?
No
Kenny is a whale.
If you are trying to say that Kenny is fast I would rather use ' Kenny is like a lightning bolt'
I am not using ' Kenny is as fast as lighting/ Kenny is as fast as a lightning bolt' as that would count as a simile.
