Hey so I’m looking to race competitively on a circuit style track. I want to get a Traxxas brushless setup with TSM. So would get get a 4Tec 2.0 with brushless and then add TSM or the 3.0 and add brushless and TSM. With the cost not being a factor. I just want the best possible setup for going around corners and straight aways on the track. Thanks in advance

The 2.0 is lighter, and you have more options on tires. TSM sometimes has a mind of its own. Up to you if you really want TSM. If you do, get the BT module as well so you can use the app and make adjustments.
As I said, the 2.0 is lighter than the 3.0. Assuming you keep the stock tires, the 3.0 are rubbish. Traxxas used to offer belted tires for the 2.0 that came in the VXL. Not sure if that is still a thing. The 2.0 tires are good, but the Supra tires might be better. If you are planning on not using Traxxas tires, the 2.0 can run any TC belted race tires. The 3.0 would look weird as they use larger tires.

@@telecomandorc I was looking to go with the Supra and then drop a brushless in it. But in one of your video, you said the 3.0 has a hard time drifting around turns on the track. So the 2.0 blows the Supra 3.0 away? I will probably be using Traxxas parts unless you have recommendations btw

@@PHANT0MIX. The Supra is great and the tires grip better than the 3.0 Corvette. The 3.0 (Corvette) has horrible tires. The Supra tires are not belted. The body is expensive. I really like the way it looks though. But with the 2.0 you can use any TC body. What is your goal? I ask because I think 45mph is fast enough but if you have seen my speed run videos with the 2.0, I have many combinations you can target. Keep in mind the electric 4-Tec platform is my favorite for just having fun.
I do have some upgrade videos, and many videos with different systems. Right now I have a Hobbywing 3665 in on of my 4-Tec to 2.0 cars. I may do the video next week if I have the chance.

There is a on road circuit track near me that races on the weekends. So my goal is to build a fast race car that is competitive.

I feel like the BL-2 is just an f540.

It could be, but with a fan in it. You might be on to something.

No its not worth putting a $100 towards a bl2s system but it is wortk putting $100 towards a hobbywing system. Max10, quikrun, ezrun, etc are $85-130 and much better. Sidewinder 3800 is $160. These are all new prices. I would still rather get one of these systems used $100 or less over a bl2s

First of all, let me shake your hand 🤝... Second, you got me there for me not being specific 😄so, well done. Sticking to the Traxxas environment staying with the Titan or upgrading to the BL-2s, I would rather pay the extra $73 and upgrade. The esc screws on nicely... etc. and it is Traxxas... brand loyalty.
$100 for any system... you are right. It is hard to beat the Quikrun. The 3660 series motors are my favorite and the 3700kv combo version is $90. Before the Tekin setup I use to run the Xerun 3660 4300kv on 2s and it was pretty sweet.

Bl2s a nice system, and it makes a ton of sense to buy one of the vehicles especially the ones that have heavy duty components. Those vehicles are replacing non-heavy duty brushed vehicles for very close to the same price.
Traxxas has made a lot of firsts in the industry. I have been heavy into rc since 2005 it wouldn’t surprise me if Traxxas was the first company to do away with brushed RTR’s.
I am super excited for the BL 2S motor. I have been waiting many years for brushless with internal fans to come back since the v1 peak vantage/ orion vortex racing motors were discontinued almost 20 years ago. They came in all kinds of winds but made a little less KV then motors of the same turns because they had an internal fan so racers weren’t too happy with them and then the versions after that didn’t have fans in them anymore but they were really good motors.
The BL 2s motor has limitations, but is perfect for the type of racing that has limitations. Dirt oval racers are already talking about ditching brushed Titans for them. The small indoor touring car track local to me would also be perfect for them as the most common class is 21.5 motors. The rtr drift cars that are either brushed or around 2500kv. The traxxas 1/16 that come with the titan 12t. These are applications I am excited to try. Extra cooling from the internal fan would be much welcomed especially in summer.

@@virgilgerbil I think you are right. Traxxas might be the first to ditch the bushed motors. Part of me thinks they added the fan to give the drift fans a 4-Tec option. Traxxas makes some beautiful plastic drift wheels but the Titan does not hold up well for that kind of driving due to heat.
For spec racing, this is awesome. It does not have the "seal" sticker like the Gravity motors, but I do not think most people interested in 4-Tecs would be too willing to cheat. But the new durability might attract more people. Plus, Traxxas cars are generally just easy to fix. I also picked up a new Slash 4x4 with the BL-2s... mainly for the winter parts... it is just nice compared to the old ones. Don't get me wrong. The Platinum is nice but the aluminum bends after a while rather than flexing.
