    Don't get me wrong, that is a sweet ride, Had a 61 Apache myself. I just knew Here in Texas were im located mine ran alot cooler with a full shroud. Mine was a custom with the chrome strip that went down the side and hooked back around to the back wheel opening. I like how yours looks with the smooth side though. Really like those wheels!

    that is a very nice pickup!!! I have a 66 and had a chance to buy one like yours very very cheap,however I never liked the Knee- Knocker style....then they started to grow on me.kind of kickin myself now.

    Other than that 1962 forward hood , nice job. I have 62 GMC saying "Chevrolet" on the tailgate.

    @mobilehotrodrepair WOW, thank you, what an eye opener your description is! I'll be viewing your video for inspiration! I want to install hardware under the hood to make it open fully & close from inside the cab but I'm learning few people think as I do. I'm not into that hydralic stuff or making vehicles bounce around, but I AM into technology. First things first though, improve the drivetrain so I can drive it on the freeway. :) Is that Rhino stuff sprayed on the bed's interior walls?

      Yes, I also use it on the bottom of cab for rust prevention and noise.

    i love the truck, i have a '61 apache 20 3/4 ton 2wd and i love it. not to be stubborn or anything but that hood isnt a '61 hood, it's a '62-'66.

    You've done a BEAUTIFUL job!! This truck is awesome!! It cracks me up how many people are negative about the engine hood rather that just complimenting you on the finished product. What's a ball park figure on this & time frame did you take? Mine's a '61 stepside with it's original inline 6 bolted to a 2 sp auto. I want to rebuild the 6 to be mean as possible, change it to a manual trans and make alot of other changes. Any advice since you do it full time?

    @mobilehotrodrepair another thing ilike on the '60 and '61's are a small back window. im not sure if they are rare or not but i believe they are just because i dont see much of them. but i do agre with you that you should build and cutoize to your customers likings. -Ray.

    Put a fan shroud on that thing! Its too nice to be stuck on the side of the road overheated.

    The 1960-62 Chevy Trucks were ahead of their time. Boxed frames with torsion bars and hydraulic clutches.

      I agree. I used to drive a 61 C10. I loved how I could open the vent windows and have a breeze across the dash; it kept me cool in the Summer and kept the windshield clear in the Winter.

    question if that is a 61 what happend to the orginal bug eye style hood?

  • @christopher5361
    @christopher5361 14 лет назад

    Why did you put the wrong hood on it? It doesn't even look like a '61. What a waste of money.

    Nice job but I prefer the original hood. This one is too common.

      I agree the Apache hood I so unique. I would have left that hood on there.
