A Variety of Mulgrave Mill Yard Action | The Cairns Railfan

Hello everyone! Welcome to a new video on the channel. First of all sorry for the wait for this video as first of all it was raining for a while in Cairns and by the time I wanted to edit this video I was sick. Anyways, In this video we will be seeing a variety of 2ft gauge sugarcane railway action at the Mulgrave Sugar Mill in Gordonvale, 20 minutes south of Cairns.
We will be seeing standard action such as sugarcane being hauled in and out of the mill as well as standard shunting operations. But we will also be seeing interesting action like trains heading to and from the Little Mulgrave Branch Line, a somewhat rarely used branch line that runs behind the mill as well as showcasing the only regular time full sugarcane bins cross the Gordon St level crossing usually only used by light engine locomotives.
We will also be seeing EMB DH18 Mk2 '11' 'Maitland' on a train after recently being put into regular service on sugarcane trains instead of the odd maintenance train here and there.
Another interesting scene is of a double locomotive pair up between Comeng ADs '12' 'Riverstone' and '17' 'Deeral' due to a minor derailment in the mill yard. Mulgrave rarely ever pairs up their locomotives!
