This is the best Elvis movie to come out. Austin just becomes Elvis and Tom Hanks of course is great. This is an Oscar performance for both of them. Austin definitely deserves an Oscar for his performance. When we went, people in the theater were singing along to the songs and clapping afterward, so it was a movie but like being at a concert as well

I had to see the movie based on the awesome trailer & boy, did it live up to it’s hype. The movie was absolutely epic & Austin Butler’s portrayal of the King is totally Oscar worthy. Certainly, there have been movies made before about Elvis but none as good & memorable as Baz Luhrmann’s take. You can’t help falling in love with the King all over again & you sure as hell will fall madly in love with Austin, who nailed the King’s sex appeal brilliantly. Loved too how Baz integrated the undeniable influence & impact that black music, gospel, the Blues & Rhythm & Blues had on Elvis’ style. As well as paying homage to Elvis, the film pays & all too rightly, homage to our Blues pioneers who Elvis was indeed indebted to. One leaves the movie in a state of both ecstasy as at times, you feel as though you’re watching the king live & in concert but one also leaves with a real sense of sadness based on the Colonel’s (Tom Parker, Elvis’ manager) shocking treatment of his number 1 star. How he totally ripped Elvis off & how because of his own financial problems, Elvis never toured abroad. How epic would that have been if the King were able to visit his fans all over the world. Incidentally, Tom Hanks’ portrayal of the Colonel is also brilliant. In conclusion, as you can tell I highly recommend the movie & more symbolically, trekking down memory lane with Elvis’ music. I’ve been listening to The King non stop since watching the movie & you realise yet again, that Elvis quite simply was (is) the greatest singer of all time. Long live The King!❤❤❤❤❤
This film is NOT. A documentary. It is meant to entertain even as it plays homage and try to tell the story of Elvis’ struggle as an artist and his rebellion against racial segregation. It was very well acted and very difficult to shoot and edit because of what they were trying to achieve technically and artistically. Being from this industry, it is clear to me how difficult it is to create this film and they did so well as a whole. No film can satisfy everyone. There will be those who love it. There will be those who don’t. What matters is that the Presley family felt it did justice to Elvis and gave their approval.
I am looking forward to seeing thevElvis movie. This is a man I hold lovingly in my heart. I hope it is the truth about him. Elvis deserves that.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😒
Franc, I don't know. If he was forced to sing "My Happiness" straight of the bat, he would fail on a show like "The Voice" or "America Has Talent". Mine you that was his first attempt at singing in a real recording studio in 1953. However if he was to sing "Reconsider Baby" (1960), Elvis would have swept all before him. Why RCA didn't release "Reconsider Baby" as a stand-alone single "I'll never know". The ended text here, is another great Elvis song.
I am sure Elvis would like this movie. If Elvis had lived he could have turned into a great film director in time, and by now relaxing in old age at Graceland with Jerry looking after him. Of all the "Memphis Mafia" crew, I think Jerry Shilling was the most honest with Elvis. The movie is gonna be a BLAST!!!

I agree with him, that when real life happens, art becomes irrelevant. It’s why I’ve never understood about spending your life in the arts, like after 9/11, no one cared about celebrities. They became very superfluous. Thank goodness Tom Hanks got it.
No way in the world some ppl will ever be satisfied they will always blame whatever they can for their own shortcomings It's a sad damn situation and myself and millions of others are over that shit
Answer to the question of whether or not Elvis would make it today, my blunt and brutal answer to that is, if it were the Elvis from the 60s with his style of music in the gyrating hips and all that, no I don’t think that particular Elvis would’ve made it, but having been born in this generation with the energy and the talent that he undoubtedly had, I believe The Elvis that the world needs in this generation will have come forward and yes he would make it without a doubt, but I think the fact that we have an artist every couple generations that raises the bar and starts a whole new ballgame with their stance and their ability and their rebellion against society, we will always have somebody like that, from Johnny Cash to Elvis to Ozzy Osbourne to Elton John to Prince and David Bowie, and so many other people who have elevated the bar to a new level and will continue to do so as the generations come along, because even though the future is not set or written, at the same time it kind of is because we are continually having new artists come out that somehow maintain this ability to carry the gauntlet forward into the new generation and other people maintain that talent and continue with great care
I’d say he would because if people never experienced his way of singing the way not many people can copy they would love it cuse it would be something new and exiting
the black chick wants to diminish Elvis's unbelievable and incredible raw beautiful courage...why listen to these punks (then and now(who have no idea what moving forward would have meant,..THEY WOULD HAVE SHIT THEIR [PANTS in fear...... this folk has NO idea how young, how beautiful and HOW courageous Elvis truly was....how would they with their easy access to .. their nominal skills because he became the most versatile vocalists ever......ask his peers...
Satin this person ,his body looks like model, 185 cm and long legs.he s so lucky to get this role, this helps him more chances to be seen by many directors in Hollywood
does anyone knows what song is playing in the scene where Elvis stormes out of his house and goes to see BB King etc.? something modern but you hear Elvis'es 'baby baby' from Heartbreak Hotel there in the song
It’s called “Let it all hang out” you can find it in the Elvis enchanted album on Spotify, or the movie’s soundtrack. But it doesn’t have the blended sound of Elvis’ “lonesome baby…” in it. I don’t think that version is available except in the movie… which is too bad because I think that remix is dope.
People keep talking shit about Austin that he still tries to sound like Elvis, people need to stfu y’all don’t realize how hard it is to step out of a role when you do method acting look at Rami after he did bohrap he still had Freddie Mercury’s mannerisms
It speaks more abt her. If u have a negative view of 3lvis then why did u sign up to be in an Elvis biopic?? Don't act righteous when u too signed up in a white big banner production abt to make money off of Elvis name when u will definitely profit from this too because of exposure it will bring u
i love the movie and i am mixed on the colonel from 1 side he helped elvis but from another side he screwed elvis and if its true that elvis wanted to go on tour outside of america then the colonel kind of killed that dream for elvis, and if that rock of eternity moment is true then the colonel saying you wil never reach it is just a nasty thing to say ofc he could have reached that dream,in some ways he did because all this time later and the memory of elvis is very much alive in the people.
Ah, you mean racism wasn't there in the music business in the 50s? So she "shoehorned" that in? Pretty interesting viewpoint. You can't talk about the history of Rock'n'Roll without talking about racism. (And I say that as white man in his 50s.)
@@maxmonster1432 No one is saying racialism isn't relevant but this woman has a tendency to make everything about herself or about racism, and if you watch just a few of her clips, that should become apparent for you.
@@maxmonster1432 @TCB since 73 plus, agree with max monster plus that waaaaas the question. What doooo you think this movie is about? Clearly you don’t know a lot about the history of the music business.

🤦🏻♂️ To anyone possibly setting up interviews with cast members of this film and are watching this particular video: interview Austin, Tom and/or Baz in future interviews for this film. The others interviewed in this particular video …. wrong vibe.
I'm so sick of this racial stuff. With Elvis, which is it, is it that he only made it because he "copied" black musicians, or he only made it because he was white. When "That's all right" exploded in Memphis, people weren't sure if he was white or black, it wasn't that people thought he was black, it was that they were a little confused because they weren't sure because I think they heard white but they knew white people didn't sing that music, and that's a key point that many people miss, like this young lady. People today like this lady only see the black influence, because she and others don't hear the white influence probably because they have never listened to country or white gospel that Elvis was influenced by.
@@dougdickason Well, I've read it a couple of times and I think I get it; but I also think you're missing out a few things. I think the young actress/musician playing Sister Rosetta doesn't fully acknowledge that the perception has changed; nowadays nobody believes anymore that Elvis (or Bill Haley or Leiber/Stoller or …) INVENTED Rock'n'Roll, and the true originals are more appreciated. But if you compare the career and public adulation of Elvis & Chuck Berry for example - there's no doubt that Chuck Berry was the better musician, the more important songwriter, the more historically substantial artist, but h was genereally threated like sh** whereas Elvis was adored even when he didn't really do anything creative anymore. And how many people REALLY know about Sister Rosetta? But the really weak point in your argument (in my view) is that you claim Elvis also had "white influence" like country or "white gospel". How can you classify these influences as "white"??? I mean, the term "white gospel" alone … and country? Jimmy Rodgers / Hank Williams / Bob Wills / even the Carter Family were ALL heavily influenced by black musicians. So basically: Nobody says "Elvis only made it because he was white" or "…because he copied black musicians"; no, he was a great and unique artist, no doubt - but the many black musicians in his time got a very raw deal compared to him.
I can vouch for being in the audience as a background actor. It was like we were watching Elvis for real. Austin was off the chart.

@@juliemyers4012 wrong. Look back at other videos of different roles he’s done. He has a normal voice
That would have been awesome
the black chick wants to diminish Elvis's unbelievable and incredible raw beautiful courage...why listen to these punks (then and now(who have no idea what moving forward would have meant,..THEY WOULD HAVE SHIT THEIR [PANTS in fear...... this folk has NO idea how young, how beautiful and HOW courageous Elvis truly was....how would they with their easy access to .. their nominal skills because he became the most versatile vocalists ever......ask his peers...
Tina Turner sang the hell out of rock n roll!
People keep talking shit about Austin that he still tries to sound like Elvis, people need to stfu y’all don’t realize how hard it is to step out of a role when you do method acting look at Rami after he did bohrap he still had Freddie Mercury’s mannerisms
If Elvis was born in 2007./ The industry was not ready for him!
i am a huge fan of Elvs and i can say that he would have probably living until today if DOC NICK and COLONEL PARKER never existed in his life...
Red Shoes Club Hanx spoils it, pervo.
Is his voice normally low?
Tom lost a lot of weight. Looks better than he has in years.
He looks amazing & healthy ❤︎
Yola is so disrespectful to Elvis. I don't understand why Baz casted someone who doesn't like him.
Black woman turned question to focus on herself and then belittled Elvis and introduced racism.
@@MikeyJMJ why do you care if she makes everything about herself? If that’s how she connects to a question, by relating it to herself, then great. Everyone can’t answer questions how you would or in a way that is particularly pleasing to you.
@@maxmonster1432 bro I can say I’m 50 too you’re probably 5 years old I highly doubt a 50 year old man would say is crap unless they’re a hippy
If you’re 50 I fuckin lived through WW2
🤦🏻♂️ To anyone possibly setting up interviews with cast members of this film and are watching this particular video: interview Austin, Tom and/or Baz in future interviews for this film. The others interviewed in this particular video …. wrong vibe.
The others felt they needed to make it about themselves and not give respect or homage to the king
Brilliant film my only concern was Tom Parkers accent. Hanks had almost turned into Gary Oldmans Dracula. Not convinced.
Did Colonel Parker fight in WW2 or Korea?
In other words they should just tell the truth if it wasn't for talented black people there wouldn't be no Elvis...
Holy Shite can you watch ANYTHING without the Race Baiting My gawd SMH
Austin Butler is 100x better than Rami Malek
5:47 tf is she talking about
I feel bad for Sean she’s saying the most random bull shit
AMEN DOUG
In fact, everybody should read this again and again until you all get what he is saying.
Both questions directed at her, she immediately started talking about herself. It is obvious that she does not like Elvis at all.
