Yeah that's the most difficult thing anymore, is finding time to play these things...

Love this game (as you know). It just got me addicted straight from the start. I think it was way better than advertised wheras wirh Yars Rising I'm concerned it's gonna be the opposite. I think you nailed it when you say its Zen...it really is despite the press and stress. Strangely it's a very relaxing game to me.
Lunar Lander Beyond shows us what Atari is capable of when on point...... And the story is great you rotten bastard!! 😂

Great review! I think you pretty much nailed it. Solid gameplay, interesting visual style, and varied missions knocked down a peg by broken stress system, imbalanced difficulty arc and lacklaster story. Also, why are we collecting those credits?! I like it overall and would recommend it to fence sitters and skeptics.

Absolutely! The credits were a waste. They could've used it for something more than they did. I'm glad I got one right!

    Atari is a strange company.
The new guys who run it really like atari and are activly trying to make new games.
My problem is that atari really lacks cool IPs.
Atari back then only cared about gameplay (which is fine.) But they really need a character that you can get behind emotionaly.
Thats the problem i have with lunar lander BEYOND! I dont care about the characters and with them having multiple characters and ships so you dont get invested and care they might as well be robots.
but you could do sick flips so i guess it evens out. Lol
I enjoyed watching you playing it, am i gonna play it? No, not a chance.
    Great video as always.🎉🎉🎉

Yeah these characters are just bad in my opinion. And the story is boring. I wish there was more characters to build on for their games but the gameplay here is solid. I really enjoyed my time playing it despite the story.
And you're right, who needs characters when you can do sick flips!

The art style is putting me off. Atari can't evolve if they stick with their historic look but this new style for Lunar lander does not provoke a feeling of Atari, it feels generic. I feel they can do better. The game may be great but as much as you should not judge a book by its cover it's hard not to in this case.
Side note: My Game Station Pro arrived yesterday, I've updated it to the new firmware but the controllers seen to be lacking in response. Not lag just not recognizing i've pushed up for example. I though it was me but after playing food fight it could clearly see i was pushing up and he was not moving. Not a good start for me.

That's bad for the controllers. They should not be thet bad, in my experiences they were at least responsive to a point where you should be able to play even if the controllers aren't good. Maybe you could return it for another?

@@TheAtariNetwork I may have to. I was shipped from US to UK which is a pain. I also think it's been a return as the box was open and the wires where not I the right spot. Sigh.

@@johnrussell8086 thanks for sharing your experience. I haven't heard this as being the norm but that doesn't matter when it's what you've experienced. And the fact you had to go out of your way to get it is all the worse. It's not right and I hope you have a seamless return

@@TheAtariNetwork after a bit of messing food fight seems to be more responsive from the SD card. I've tried a some hacks and demos and a few either do not have the sound or characters split in the middle while moving ( Dig Dug 2 on the 7800 for example has both). Probably more to do with the ROM and the emulator but might be something for you to try on another live stream if you think it would interest your audience. I would be 😁.
Keep up the great content and I look forward to more video's.
