What Fitz said to Jemma, while a low blow, was fully deserved, considering how she was even before the Tripp thing. And though they all don't want to admit it, he is the best one to make a decision about Skye. He's been in her position (of sorts) and has also been front and centre on all the alien research just as much as Jemma has, and was thinking rationally while she was acting emotionally. He is uniquely qualified in a way no one else is. Jemma's feelings were really done well on the writer's part, how she was up for total eradication but when she learns it was Skye she's like "but she's my friend so it's different" ....kinda like how some people act about marginalized groups in real life
I understand the writing for Mac and Simmons here, but it always feels a bit unauthentic to me how their anti-alien reactions seem so blind to the concept of "it's a person".
Mack and Bobby's secret was a bit frustrating because you're right AoS is unique in a way were it doesn't delay people discovering things so even though technically it only has been a few episodes it still feels so dragged cus were are not used to it with this show.
To Sif's point, even though she asked if Raina was put down, when she realized it was Skye, she offered to take her to Asgard to take care of her, not kill her. Between her knowledge of Terrigenesis and the Kree's old plan, and what their experiments are capable of..., she had Earth's well being in mind and it is part of her station to protect it.
@ck5071no I doubt that he would most likely place sky under sifs leadership to help train and control her powers I doubt Odin would kill sky since she is innocent he would probably keep an eye on her and the kree at all times though.
@@darknessknows1235 which I assume is why Sif is primarily being given assignments away from Asgard at this point. She's the one most likely to see through Loki's bullshit.
The way Mack says at the end about Skye, “We would have found a way to HANDLE her.” Or something like that, is so dehumanising. Everyone except Fitz in that scene and Hunter (he didn’t really say anything) are assholes. Jemma is understandable but she still annoyed me. 29:39 I may be wrong but I’m pretty re sure Skye did want to tell Coulson but Fitz said not to cus of everyone’s emotions etc…
Hahaha! Give it a little bit more time. I think your main question will be answered verrrry soon. 😂 I'm interested in your reaction to that too. 😂 As for this episode, the Skye reveal moment is another one of my favorite rewatchable moments of the show. Mama May is showing that she'll love Skye, no matter what, and Papa Coulson will fight to the death for her. Like you said throughout the episode. May knew Something was going on with Skye but not exactly what it was. Yet, she wasn't pressuring her to reveal it until she was ready. Ming-Na is a treasure on this show
And from this moment forward, Sif pretty much got very lucky to survive from Hela and Thanos due to Loki banishing Sif offscreen when he was still pretending to be Odin at the time. Tho she was also one of the many victims of the Snap, but thankfully Sif got Blipped back into existence by Hulk. And then *Thor: Love and Thunder* happened where Sif lost her left arm to Gorr the God Butcher. Honestly, Sif deserves better!
@@jessicamagri8211 That was the real-world explanation, but the above fits as an in-universe explanation. Sif is the one of their friend group most likely to see through Loki's shit.
I think Sif was reacting to what she knew of the Terragenesis and how it was supposed to work, basically making mindless destructive weapons. She was not expecting the "weapon" to have free will, likely because she'd been told they wouldn't. She changed her mind once she realized her assumptions were wrong, and then she was thinking more about helping Skye and getting her help to control her powers, something that Asgardians clearly have some experience in doing. I'd like to see a What If.. on what if Skye had been trained by the Asgardians.
So glad Fitz is your favorite, same for me! I totally get your frustration with the Mack and Bobbi thing, it's not been too long since we found out when compared with other shows (The Flash I'm looking at you) but for this show it feels dragged out when looking at their track record.
It's so funny how episode 15 of season 1 and season 2 are reprieves from the serious stuff, and then every episode 15 afterward is just the darkest shit 😂
I just went to read the Wiki page for the episode, and I had forgotten about the absolutely GORGEOUS "Art of the Evolution" artworks that were created for the back-half of this season. Don't go looking at all of them because they are spoiler heavy, but the wiki for each episode has each episodes specific poster, and are worth checking out. The commitment to the show from all levels of production is outstanding.
These sequence of episodes are some of my favourite. Skye coming into her own, the team learning how to handle it. The division with mack and bobby having a different agenda and how everything comes to a head. Every episode keeps you om your feet and wanting to see what comes next
I felt betrayed by Mack and Bobbi too! I watched this show when it first aired and I've rewatched it many times and this whole plot made me so furious that I get mad again every time I rewatch it. Lol
Jemma has always been my favorite character (I mean technically FitzSimmons is my favorite characters) but I agree that Fitz was the one in the right here. And while I definitely understand why Jemma has been acting the way she is, I was 100% on Fitz's side with this situation
*_Don't worry my guy! Like you mentioned, AoS has a tendencies of addressing things within a couple of episodes: Ward's turn was revealed to everyone on the team within 2 episode, so was Skye's new powers here and where Simmons was after the start of season 2. It is a staple of the show that, where other writers/shows would stretch the little secrets from the other characters or the audience for a very long time, AoS just puts it out in the open and explores the results of everyone knowing (They still have some main secrets that they stretch out, like how Coulson was alive in season 1, because the plot demands it, but more often than not they'll just let everything out in the open). So answers to your more pressing questions are coming soon! (But then again, that doen't mean that two more questions won't spring from each answer!... "Cut off one head: Two MORE shall take its place!")_* 😜
23:18 maybe your frustration is why you stopped watching, lol. Totally agree with you about Fitz! I made it to the end of season 4, but barely remember ANYTHING, just like you. One benefit of getting older. Your memory isn't as good and you can enjoy some things "for the first time" twice.
I hated the whole bobby and Mack situation as well and I hated how they acted towards skye especially later on I won’t spoil it. Honestly Fitz is the best person since he wasn’t thinking emotionally like jemma.
The story here with Bobby and Mack is my least favorite in the series for pretty much the same reason. Some things related too it just take more time than they need to take and it sticks out among other quick turnarounds in the show
You're right! It all comes from a well-meaning place but it all sucks! Also, my absolute outrage over what Mack did to Hunter at the end of this episode was when I realized that I had really come to like Hunter.
I agree. Sometimes he has this “holier than though” attitude (or overactive moral compass? Idk how to describe it) that makes him kind of a prick to others when it comes to having to make hard choices
For me, this whole Bobbi and Mack situation (and [redacted]) is the worst part of the entire AoS run. And even then, it still has some really good parts. Skye/Daisy plot hard-carries this season. (For me, anyway.) So hang in there.
