I’m trans and I had to BEG for my mom’s permission to let me cut my hair but she never agreed. It was a huge deal for me because my hair made me feel dysphoric af. One day I said “fuck it” and just chopped it off. I’m so happy I did. I don’t think I’d still be here if I didn’t cut my hair. It did change me (and my mom’s opinion too). Nick, seriously, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for this! I don't know why I insist on putting so much of my self-worth and identity into something as silly as my hair. There was a point where it wouldn't grow and all my friends had beautiful long hair and I was so envious, and when my hair finally grew, I vowed to never cut it short again. But recently I've been wanting to cut layers, and I've been afraid that I would be disappointed in the way I looked. I'm going to make an appointment and finally do my hair the way I want!

i grew up with so much change to the point where i hate it but also am so used to it. when things change i’m frustrated it has to happen again but know if it doesn’t i won’t get anywhere. looking back now though, the changes i hated the most when it was happening made me 10x better of a person than i was before. and accepting change helped me allow myself to go to therapy, to make friends, and start working toward a career i want things that before looked like too much extra change “i didn’t need”.

I always resonate change with myself, one part abt change that is relatable for me is falling out with people. A few years back i was best friends with this one girl i was rlly close with (i had known her since 3rd grade) , she was a very "out there" person and liked to take risks, i was a very shy person who hated doing new things and taking risks. i had thought that if i surrounded myself with people like her it would help me break out of my comfort zone. spoiler, it wasnt a good idea. i had started to feel more insecure around my then best friend and felt like i wasnt good enough to be friends with her. I then had started to realize that this wasnt good for me so i had started to distance myself from her, when i had had started to do this i felt rlly bad since i had known her for such a long time and was close with her. now abt three years later i have realized that im the happiest person i have ever been, so i think change is amazing (i just now realized this prob made no sense but i just started to ramble sorry for the long comment)

the hair looks amazing nick!! and i feel like you explained how change is an important thing in such a good way. I always resonate change with myself, one part abt change that is relatable for me is falling out with people. A few years back i was best friends with this one girl i was rlly close with (i had known her since 3rd grade) , she was a very "out there" person and liked to take risks, i was a very shy person who hated doing new things and taking risks. i had thought that if i surrounded myself with people like her it would help me break out of my comfort zone. spoiler, it wasnt a good idea. i had started to feel more insecure around my then best friend and felt like i wasnt good enough to be friends with her. I then had started to realize that this wasnt good for me so i had started to distance myself from her, when i had had started to do this i felt rlly bad since i had known her for such a long time and was close with her. now abt three years later i have realized that im the happiest person i have ever been, so i think change is amazing (i just now realized this prob made no sense but i just started to ramble sorry for the long comment)
