This movie has one of the coolest plots I have ever seen , when I was little this movie was one of my favourite's because all of those cool creatures and spaceships but now it is one of my favourite's because of this cool plot
This movie is almost nothing like the book. Literally bombed in theaters for this reason. Had a great fan base for the books.

This was such an underrated sci-fi movie.
It failed commercially because it claimed to be based upon the Barsoom novels, which have been read and loved by tens of millions of people for a hundred years; but it only kept the bare bones of the novels and changed everything else. The characters, settings, motivations, etc , are mostly unrecognizable from the books. As a movie it was practically guaranteed to disappoint the fans of the novels.
And it's a shame really, because if the movie had been promoted as a stand alone piece of independent entertainment that had nothing to do with the novels (and obviously some names were changed) it would have been much better received. As a movie it's really not bad; it is only as a film version of the novels that it is terrible.
This was one of the most interesting and coolest movies i ever watched. And i think they kept an open ending for a sequel as well. Sadly half a decade has passed since.

My favorite part of the movie was when Tars Tarkas smacked Carter on the back of the head for leading them to the wrong city.
@@maxkronader5225 nah, they didn't market it as a movie about barsoom princess of mars novels, and instead marketed it as a stand-alone movie.
The alien "doggy" (called Woola) was actually pretty neat, and played a bigger role in the actual movie.
It's main thing was that it was really, really fast, and it thought he wanted to play with it when he tried to run away from the prison.
And it's so cute 😂

While this was a good movie, I wouldn''t say it was from some long ago time when Disney made "real" movies, especially because I have no idea what "real" means, do you mean live action? Because they make plenty of those, honestly too many. Do you mean good? In that case, that's far more subjective, but suggesting that Disney made good films less than a decade ago but just suddenly no longer due is an odd idea, probably one blinded by nostalgia.

I've been an Edgar Rice Burroughs fan since my Dad introduced me to his John Carter books when I was a youngster. This was a very enjoyable movie and it's a dang shame it got panned by the critics. No sequels in the works from Disney.
They need to make a game about that and when it’s over, you can explore the world of Mars and see other things
It's actually based off a book series and even influenced Star Wars.
Word hopefully it's made by Ubisoft, Bethesda or CDPR

When this movie was released, i saw it's ad on tv with a quiz. I responded and got a "john carter" cap as prize. I still have it, but never saw the movie. Guess watching this in theatre would've been great. This brought back some good memories. Anyways, great video as always.

This movie and Cowboys vs Aliens are very underrated historical fantasy movies.
John Carter is probably my favorite movie ever
I really enjoy that human voice, it's pretty nice and feels more natural, I'm not used to text-to-speech voices so this is nice on the ears, no sudden, robot noises.
Whenever I dream that I can fly, I always fly like this 3:14 I’ve always wondered what it would be like to see someone fly the same way.
I remember when this movie came out and everybody said it was trash, I liked it since the jump, dope story!!!
the part where this guy jumping head on into an army of monster by himself with his speed demon dog give me goose bump still
Moral of the story: Believe to someone's crazy stories so you can be plot valuable and get their properties

This is one of my favorite movies of all time, but I find it a bit funny how in these types of movies, civilization is supposedly more advanced, yet, they still wear undeveloped clothing and use spears and swords as weapons while hovering in a technologically advanced ship. i don’t know it’s a bit funny to me but i still like the movies.
John Carter was a Brilliant Movie, with a Brilliant Ending that woke everyone in the Cinema i was with up and made them Cheer for Joy - Yet, it was so Depressing to learn how badly it did with Disney, with most preferring silly action movies like Avengers etc instead :'(

When this was released, some people were saying this was a bad movie. I didn't listen to them and watched it. It was actually a good and enjoyable movie. Although some CGI needs improvement but I still like it. His pet charmed me.
