MORE! love them!!! Question; would you apply ice initially on any musculoskeletal injury as a source of pain releif and swelling reduction and then in future treatment do the heat? or are there some which you would attempt to go heat first for?
I tend to allow the person to make their mind up with what they prefer. I just give them some main key points Ice - Reduces swelling and protects the area affected from further damage. Heat - Great for pain relief too, also offers more comfort and aid to improving the condition of the muscle. But if the person has taken an impact i always tend to go for ice, then long term heat. I also only ever use heat on their backs as i want to maintain movement in the spine.
