My opinion. Their life story is unique in that they earned their wealth. Maye Musk, educating herself, juggling jobs to sustain her family whilst enduring marital hardships, but being supportive of her children. Elon adding to his already exceptional abilities by educating himself in a field that peaked his interest and that him and his siblings were chums in maintaining family closeness so as to succeed in business together. All and all his blessed abilities, insight and visions lead to his acquiring huge amounts of assets. For hard working busy, dedicated prospectors and creators like Elon Musk there aren't many understanding women willing to make the same sacrifice as a man who has a vision like being multi planetary. This makes for personal failings. But all and all they seem to be a family who was dedicated to succeeding financially by utilizing their talents. I think the question is sort of irrelevant, old money vs new money. The video gives a lot of information about the family, and if its all true its quite telling. Elon is hyper-competitive, and extremely intelligent. He grew up in a broken upper middle class family, and probably learned a lot from his father who was one of the early tech entrepreneurs. He apparently learned quicker than most how to build a technical company, and he did a very good job of capitalizing on it. There are many "old money" people like Donald Trump that even though they are not intelligent, they do quite well. There are also old money people that lose the family fortunes. It looks like Elon had a little money and turned it into a fortune.
Please! Donald Trump should never be mistaken for Old Money! He is New Money through and through! Traditional family values mean nothing to him. My opinion. Their life story is unique in that they earned their wealth. Maye Musk, educating herself, juggling jobs to sustain her family whilst enduring marital hardships, but being supportive of her children. Elon adding to his already exceptional abilities by educating himself in a field that peaked his interest and that him and his siblings were chums in maintaining family closeness so as to succeed in business together. All and all his blessed abilities, insight and visions lead to his acquiring huge amounts of assets. For hard working busy, dedicated prospectors and creators like Elon Musk there aren't many understanding women willing to make the same sacrifice as a man who has a vision like being multi planetary. This makes for personal failings. But all and all they seem to be a family who was dedicated to succeeding financially by utilizing their talents. Old money, new money dosen't fit except their ancestors were talented folks as well and its passed in their bloodline.
