It does! Old arcanine always felt like it struggled a bit in the mewtwo matchup though and since that's really common right now mew has felt like it helps out tremendously!

Thank you so much for this deck build. I was only running a normal Blaine deck with only ninetails and new Rapidash since there are tons of sleep and Celebi deck but it couldn't fight against Charizard deck.
I'm really excited to try this list! I suspected Arcanine would be good with all the Celebi running around, but couldn't find a 5th Pokemon that felt right. Mew looks perfect here!
I just realized Mew is a good Sabrina wall; if they cant take it out in 1 hit, you can take Mew out with Expeditioner and pivot into a different benched mon
Its funny how Arcanine was considered one of the worst EXs when the game launched. I pulled 2 early on and figured why not give it a go so i wasnt too surprised when the Arcanine/Char deck started popping up in the winners bracket of variois tournaments. My new fave deck is Scolipede/Wheezing. Havent perfected the build quite yet, but so far ive run over a Pikachu, a couple of Mew/Mewtwo and even a Celbi deck with it. Leafs has come in clutch to pull Scolipede out without losing energy even if its just to put wheezing back in for a turn, use poison theb you just Koga it out and go back into Scolipede for the enhanced damage. It also seems like it has a lot of solid break points that lets it survive an extra turn.

Then after Arcanine starting performing well in tournaments people were still saying Centiskorch was better in every way. His redemption arc has been so much fun to watch :D I was actually loving a Weezing/Scolipede deck yesterday and sat down to record and just got hit with the worst draws game after game to the point that I scrapped the video idea and then landed on this one! When you get the Scolipede evolution pretty early on you are almost unstoppable with how much damage you're pushing. It can just be had to win the games where you venipede is at the bottom of your deck. In the version I was running I used one mythical island tauros as a Celebi/EX sweeper if needed!
Agree with everything you said, 1 retreat cost and you can use it in any deck if you don’t care about doing the damage on the 20 energy, you can use it as a tank with that supporter card and replicate any fucking decks big attacks with 3 energy, best card in the game I'm sure! love the channel love the content.
I didn't pull any Celebis yet but got 3 Mews (2 of the full art ones which imo is better than the crown rares-ngl i think the gold background makes crown rares look a bit tacky but again thays just my opinion. Threw 2 copies in my Mewtwo deck the first date the set released and was instantly impressed. I feel a lot of people keep talking about Celebi rocking the meta but imo Mew is one of the most powercreep resistant cards so far. Three colorless to copy any ability (without a lot of the downsides) is insane. Idk if itll end up being a good thing or not but i know the devs said they won't adjust any of the cards once they're released so Mew EX will stay as he is.
@rayman17420 Celebi is really good just for it's specific deck. Going forward Mew will definitely have staying power as the game gets more consistent with each release
I made too 16 with a similar deck in the event that the winner was the scolipede deck won in a 139 person event and I lost to him in the first round of top cut. I finished 10th in that event. My deck has the same 7 pokemon, but the trainer choices make for different strategy for each piloting the deck. I played and crafted this deck since day one. I hope you grow to like this deck like I did on day 1.
You could probably take out red card for another Sabrina! There are some situations where i like the reach with giovani,Giovanni, but it doesn't feel absolutely necessary either!

I love the idea. I'm doing a lot of brewing and testing with the new cards to get a feel for what the best decks will be! I plan on doing either a meta update or best decks type video soon!
Moltres is kinda the most important card of the deck. Playing with only 1 of is a huge detriment I recommend you just try to find it before playing the deck
You could make it work, but I think it would hinder the consistency a lot with only one Moltres. If you were to try it I would say run another support (Sabrina or Gio) so that you don't lower your chance to start with Moltres at the beginning of games. I've been digging and spent some money trying to pull Zapdos EX and have had 0 luck. I have the pack points to pull one, but want to wait until I at least find one first! Hopefully Moltres is in your very next pack and if not if you haven't used your free 2 week premium trial I believe next month is Moltres!

For that second match I realized you should have powered up the Moltres in play and not the Mew just to put pressure. If they didnt have an out the Moltres would have one shot most grass, or you trade Moltres then next turn you bring out Arc.
Yes! I liked the old version of this deck for that reason. It's much less reliant on finding all of the needed pieces to evolve vs just needing the basic and 1 evo. That deck had trouble going toe to toe with Mewtwo decks, but Mew EX definitely changed that for us!
Second mew lowers your chances to start with or find moltres from a pokeball. Red card can be replaced with another Sabrina. I like red card right now because of how many stage 2 evo lines are currently being ran. That typically means they hold more cards in hand and are more negatively impacted, but it could be an easy cut as well

You should have put energy on Moltres. It could have destroyed that Servine early and put pressure on the Celebi before it was finished setting up.

If you face a zard deck, your genome hacking will discard 2 fire energy for 200 damage and is best a finisher.
Definitely! You want mew on the backline ready to pivot into one shot their Charizard since you'll be discarding fire energy!
