Aside from Epic making very questionable management decisions, and even in the face of the massive problem in ranked, I still enjoy the heck out of Rocket League. Could it be better? Oh yeah, it could be much MUCH better. But there still is no other game out there that I enjoy quite like RL. An absolute crime that Epic is just sitting on one of the most original and unique games ever created because they just want to use it to shovel more money into Fortnite.
With trading gone and Dropshot now only being available half the time I'm really heartbroken. Those were like the two things I loved the most next to just the regular mode. Trading was fun because the items felt valuable and you could see someone's item and say "wow this would look really nice if I put it in a design with these 3 other items" and then just get the items. Without trading you have practically no way of completing a themed preset. And dropshot was just simply the coolest non-standard mode to me. Hoops is cool too and occasionally a match of rumble can be refreshing, but dropshot felt basically like a whole other game within rocket league with how cool it looked and played. (Oh and I guess there's snow day too, don't really like it, but at least it teaches people about the importance of bumps/demos). I feel like the Rocket League community asked for next to nothing, but instead of getting anything they're just robbed more and more. Like how long until they remove even more from the game? Why did Rocket League in 2018 feel more complete like it does now? Just sadge.

Feel the same for both RL and Apex, those two are my all time favourite. And just like RL. Massive creators like The Gaming Merchant, who’s like the Leth/Wayton of apex is saying that it’s dying. Apex and TF2 have so much potential and from some of the game modes, you can see that potential. But the companies just don’t listen. They don’t care if it’s dying, if they can milk it before it’s demise then they’d rather do that than actually put some effort. It’s honestly embarrassing and a let down that these ginormous corporations are just plain lazy.
Thought my submissions for smurfs and teammates playing against me were just being ignored because they were getting sick of me submitting them. Good to know it wasn't just me, bad to know they just don't care what people do in game anymore.
Absolutely valid points. Any RL fans should be very upset with the trajectory of things. RL is my favorite game of all time and I actually uninstalled for the first time today. Im hoping good news can come at some point so I can jump back in, but its just so sad right now and not worth playing IMO. Like you said, ranked is the main reason to play and the system is messed up with smurfs and it feels like the player base has even gotten more toxic over the years. Ranked rewards are never worth it and after so many years, its hard to keep up the grind. Im GC and the effort it would take to get to SSL is too much. Ive peaked. And now have no reason to play it feels after getting stale and the ranked issues. Im just sad :(
They literally do not care about their game. I saw a mod made for diablo 1 made by one person that totally changed the game. Seeing that rocket league has had very, verrrrrry little improvement over the last 3 years. I have no doubt they only have 1 or 2 people actually working on the game itself. I'm going to play the game until the servers shut down, but unless they do something to bring people in like a rocket league 2 or something crazy. This marks the beginning of the end.
I'm a diamond ranked player, and for sure, I can tell you that the game is dead below Champ. If teammates aren't inherently better than the opposing team, everyone wants to forfeit. There's zero chances at getting better in-game because the moment we see a better team, these players are either spamming What a Save or outright leaving the game.
Does RL have any future ? Well considering what devs tell you in game chat in your ranked games & the absolute ZERO communication that community get, the only future this game has is BUY SKINS IN ITEM SHOP.
I wont be playing fortnite rl racing and i know alot of discord groups feel the same way smurfing is a huge issue and instead of reporting to epic which does no good i report to xbox as im signed in as a xbox player .Epic better do somthing or else the game we all love will just continue to down grade with all this backlash you would think epic is on notice as seen as a poor company not maintaining a game they purchesed and have control of online play im just still pissed about losing trading sry to ramble grrr
Us console players cant even make hoops trainig packs. I can find a couple online made from a PC. But they dont work my issues. I like making my packs to hit my specific issues. You touched on every though i have had. Im not a fan of fortnite. Wont redownload it. Workshop maps for us? Non existent. I don't see myself stopping anytime soon. But if they make the game unbearable a lot of people will. Idk why you would focus solely on one game. When you have a game thats stood thd test of time. 2015 to 2023. A long time for a online game to have so many active members. Why push them to the other game when you could have two sources of income? Anyway sorry for my rant.
