@@FasTrackIELTS Hi , I see you presented more than one idea (advantages). However I have read that it's better to take one idea and fully develop it, even IELTS instructors recommend that. What would you suggest? By the way, your videos are helping a lot.. Thank you so much
Hi Asiya!!! I watched your videos for 2 days before my exam and showed up for it, ended up scoring an 8.5! I got L-9 R-9 W-7.5 S-8. If I’d practiced a lot earlier I would’ve done better in writing but yes. I attempted the test with a very high fever so I’m glad I did this well. Thank you so much for your tips, I learnt quite a lot from it!

my exam is set for the 16th of September, I am scared because I need a good score. but when I read the comments on this video. I decided to dive into your channel and study with you
@@FasTrackIELTS Update I got 6.5 in writing, before watching your videos I wasn’t able to get even 2, but I watched all your videos specifically for task 2, it helped me a lot to understand the types of tasks, how should I start with each type, how can I connect the ideas, and how should I end it. Before watching your videos I had no idea about it but one week preparation with your guidance was more than enough. Thank you so much
I was just working on my writing skill and wanted to take a break. Then clicked the button of You Tube and it suggested me your new video about Writing task. What a coincidence!🤍💚
I did not understand what you have explained about if clause"present simple passive are not allowed in the dependent clause " can you please explain about it. 16:02
Hi Monika! It's called "conditional type 1" and I was talking about using the future simple in the main clause and present simple in the "if" clause. You can read more about it here www.ef.co.uk/english-resources/english-grammar/type-1-conditional/ As for the passive voice, you can use it if you need it; it doesn't change the tenses we use :)
Thank you so much for this video! I'm practicing currenly but I found this task confusing: Some people argue that all experimentation on animals is bad and should be outlawed. However, others believe that important scientific discoveries can be made from animal experiments. Can experimentation on animals be justified? Are there any alternatives? How can it be structured? Does it ask for our opinion? (is the question "can..be justified" more like advantages/disadvantages or discuss both sides?). Thank you for your help!
Hello! Thank you for this tips, and I also would like to ask if a future statement (I hope that in the future people will....)t would be helpful and beneficial to increase a band or it is better to not use it?
Hi , I see you presented more than one idea (advantages). However I have read that it's better to take one idea and fully develop it, even IELTS instructors recommend that. What would you suggest? By the way, your videos are helping a lot.. Thank you so much
If I opt out from expressing my opinion in the introduction replacing with essay outline plainly and strongly focus on the conclusion for my own point of view, would that be valid? Or most likely, I will be receiving lower band score based from the band descriptors?
Hey, thanks for the video! Just one question: Am I supposed to always give my personal opinion in the introduction and in the conclusion, no matter the type of question (Problem & Solutions, Two Direct Questions etc.)? Or are there any types not requiring my personal opinion? Thanks in advance
Today many people work until a later age. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. Write of at least 250 words.
Yes, one about advantages and one about disadvantages :)) If you mean that each paragraph should have one advantage, for example, your essay will end up way too long; you don't need as much development for each argument. Two body paragraphs are what you need in most IELTS essays
Hi Asia, thanks for all the valuable and meticulous contributions and efforts. Your online materials on IELTS Writing Task 1 and 2 have been really helpful, I'm glad to have come across them. However, I'm still confused with few main issues and unfortunately it is very difficult to find an answer to my concerns. Maybe those who are experienced might know the answer, however this is my first exam experience. Apologies for my ignorance. Anyways, here's my first question: Can we ''partially agree/disagree'' while answering ''to what extent do you agree'' type of questions, or shall we take a side no matter what (to score higher)? My second question, do you recommend using ''concession'' and ''balanced opinion'' styles, if so, when? Thanks a million in advance, all the bests.
Additional question : I’ve been also wondering the difference between “partially agree/disagree” and “balanced opinion” types, as I’ve recently seen that they were used interchangeably in some sources which made me more confused :)
Hi! Yes, you can partially agree. And yes, you can have a balanced opinion. I'd say choose whichever you can argue clearly. In my courses, we learn all this in detail, but I hope this helps a bit. Good luck!
You are wrong. If the question says do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages? If I said yes, in this case, I should mention more advantages than disadvantages and the opposite correct. They shouldn't be covered equally. But, if the question says discuss the advantages and disadvantages. In this case, both side should be covered equally.
Well, "covering" is writing about them. You should cover both the advantages and the disadvantages. If you say that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, your advantages should be stronger; it doesn't mean that you should include more of them ;) PS This essay was written together with a former examiner if this can help to convince you
