I was reading that some animals can grow back limbs. I don't know exactly why, but I think it's because they need them. Piccolo needs his limbs, so he can grow them back because of regeneration. I think Saiyans have regeneration for their tails until they no longer need them. Also, Saiyans probably finally evolved enough that they no longer need them like the Saiyans in U6. I think since Goku and allegedly Vegeta achieved SS when Goten and Trunks were concieved this meant that they wouldn't be born with a tail. The same can be said for Pan and Bra/Bulla. It's like I don't need this Ozaru form anymore (so need for a tail) because the SS form is much stronger. #Enders

All these theories, and Akira Toriyaman himself disproved all of them! Vegeta never grew his tail back because.....Akira Toriayama literally forgot about them after the Saiyan Saga. After the Frieza Saga, he remembered, but only for one movie. Cooler's Revenge. After that, you NEVER see another Saiyan with a tail EVER AGAIN (GT doesn't count, as it was done by another author/artist). They don't have tails because the creator literally forgot about them. Even in Dragon Ball Super, none of the Saiyans you meet have tails. Then again, Super is drawn and written by different artists/writers than Akira, as well. He only created basic artwork for them to use as references. But there you have it. Bad memory is why they have no tails.
Since Toei produces Dragon ball content and Akira has made an explanation by calling Gt a grand side story and also said the movies are a different timeline then techincally gt does count it just dosent have the same writing as super because just like disney star wars and legends star wars writers info is all over the fucking place and there are so many confusing things do to all the media out there about it that there really is no true reason and the fans have to come up with them instead

Tails don't make saiyans weaker, it's just that at a certain point, the tails wouldn't make saiyans stronger at all either. As a matter of fact there might only be 2 benefits to having the tail at the point of super, coming from GT. I know GT is non-canon, but I don't care. I believe the only 2 benefits to Goku, Gohan, and Vegeta would be super saiyan 4 and a much lighter burden on the body when super saiyan 3. For example, GT Goku without the tail can't maintain ssj3 for more then 10 seconds. He says that he dropped back to his base because his child body couldn't handle using the state to it's fullest. Not because of his energy leaking out of his body too fast. Also Goku says that there's a specific feeling of ki leaking out of his body whenever he uses ssj3. Now when GT Goku grows his tail back, he's able to use super saiyan 3 with no issue whatsoever, aside from making sure the tail isn't pulled off. I believe the tail might even help with God ki.

Yes it is weak by all means but that would only apply in early DB. Meaning a 10x increase would not mean much number wise but considering Goku and Vegeta and even Gohan are at God level at least then imagine how powerful a great ape would be? Let alone a SSJ. Case and point Broly. I guess it is not far fetch to say that as a legendary SSJ he has been tapping into that great ape power all his life so yeah. Great supplementary vid by the way. I'm not sure how much you are following the current Manga episodes. Bardock loses his tail in a battle but it grows back. I won't go into anymore details on that incase you haven't seen. They haven't gone into how or why he's able to grow it back yet.

The real answer is Akira and other writers who have written dragon ball content explained things differently and then it made a permanent confusion Writers who write the movies The writers who wrote Gt and the writers who wrote super dont always have akira is writing and since they are all written by toei they are official material and as akira tried his best to make an explanation set the movies as a seperate timelime and called gt a grand side story which would imply it is also probably an alternate timeline Since these are all anime and manga materials produced by either Akira or Toei they would all be canon but years of many writers writing things differently then others has caused immense confusion and wierd plotholes Its kinda like star wars Star wars Legends many stories have problems that contradict the Prequels and the disney canon but were still material produced by Lucasfilms and is technically Official and Disney kidna just wrote them off as Legends and not The main timeline Really the real way is to try and use explanations by Akira and other writers and make our own explanation that could help make these reasons work in Dragon ball and in dragon ball Gt the tail makes them stronger and helps them out whereas akira said the body just thinks its obsolete at a point and wont grow it back these both could be true just because the tail helps dosent mean the body knows that 100% it may have seen it as unnecessary without knowing that other forms like golden oozaru and such exist kind of like how someone could transplant you a new organ in real life and the body even though it will kill you if it does this will reject it because it thinks its bad and not good and it winds up actually being a bad decision by the body since with vegeta and nappas case the tail really has no downsides when the weakness is conquered except maybe using it to throw the opponent but thats not really too bad of a weakness since you could just grab there arm aswell or even there hair In super obviously the universe 6 sayains evolved differently overtime and there evolution deemed tails unneccesary however just like with humans in real life its possible the tail bone is still there which would explain why Caulifla explains going super sayain as a tingly feeling because the power goes from her tailbone up her spine since the original true power of the sayains in the great ape form comes from the tail so the sayains new true power in super sayain makes the tail bone tingle in Gt the tail can be pulled out and form again and that could make since goku is tail may have been restored due to him being turned into a child perhaps being turned back into a kid may have stimulated his body to attempt to regrow his tail perhaps because it would be kinda like how baby sayains were born with tails and maybe it restimulated something similar and the body regrew a tail and in vegeta is case obviously we know baby vegeta was hit with like 10x as much zenos needed to transform into an ape so maybe that stimulated his tail to start growing out considering the huge power boost vegeta is body got from becoming a golden great ape and may have made a small tail that could be pulled out and the 10x zenos also could have been how many bulma zapped vegeta with in the omega fight which maybe x10 zenos is so much that it can reach the tailbone and stimulate the transformation without the tail being out but of course the real reason is akira just hates tails and wants to strip goku and vegeta of anything that made them unique *joking*

Um solved the video game Kakarot explains it their tails are like a handicap once they hit a power level and the tails cut off by any means it wont grow back however if your power level isnt at that certain point your tail will grow back regardless due to a saiyans handicap is their tails

The real answer is Akira and other writers who have written dragon ball content explained things differently and then it made a permanent confusion

The writers who wrote Gt
and the writers who wrote super dont always have akira is writing and since they are all written by toei they are official material and as akira tried his best to make an explanation set the movies as a seperate timelime and called gt a grand side story which would imply it is also probably an alternate timeline
Since these are all anime and manga materials produced by either Akira or Toei they would all be canon but years of many writers writing things differently then others has caused immense confusion and wierd plotholes

Star wars Legends many stories have problems that contradict the Prequels and the disney canon
but were still material produced by Lucasfilms and is technically Official and Disney kidna just wrote them off as Legends and not The main timeline
Really the real way is to try and use explanations by Akira and other writers and make our own explanation that could help make these reasons work
in Dragon ball and in dragon ball Gt the tail makes them stronger and helps them out
whereas akira said the body just thinks its obsolete at a point and wont grow it back
these both could be true just because the tail helps dosent mean the body knows that 100% it may have seen it as unnecessary without knowing that other forms like golden oozaru and such exist kind of like how someone could transplant you a new organ in real life and the body even though it will kill you if it does this will reject it because it thinks its bad and not good and it winds up actually being a bad decision by the body since with vegeta and nappas case the tail really has no downsides when the weakness is conquered except maybe using it to throw the opponent but thats not really too bad of a weakness since you could just grab there arm aswell or even there hair
In super obviously the universe 6 sayains evolved differently overtime and there evolution deemed tails unneccesary however just like with humans in real life its possible the tail bone is still there which would explain why Caulifla explains going super sayain as a tingly feeling because the power goes from her tailbone up her spine since the original true power of the sayains in the great ape form comes from the tail so the sayains new true power in super sayain makes the tail bone tingle
in Gt the tail can be pulled out and form again and that could make since goku is tail may have been restored due to him being turned into a child perhaps being turned back into a kid may have stimulated his body to attempt to regrow his tail perhaps because it would be kinda like how baby sayains were born with tails and maybe it restimulated something similar and the body regrew a tail
and in vegeta is case obviously we know baby vegeta was hit with like 10x as much zenos needed to transform into an ape so maybe that stimulated his tail to start growing out considering the huge power boost vegeta is body got from becoming a golden great ape and may have made a small tail that could be pulled out and the 10x zenos also could have been how many bulma zapped vegeta with in the omega fight which maybe x10 zenos is so much that it can reach the tailbone and stimulate the transformation without the tail being out
but of course the real reason is akira just hates tails and wants to strip goku and vegeta of anything that made them unique *joking*

Um solved the video game Kakarot explains it their tails are like a handicap once they hit a power level and the tails cut off by any means it wont grow back however if your power level isnt at that certain point your tail will grow back regardless due to a saiyans handicap is their tails
