    I just want to remind that the Geek and Gorgeous only ontains a derivative of Azelaic Acid and unfortunately my skin did not like that at all and broke out badly pretty quickly although my acne prone/oily skin loves Azelaic acid usually. I have tried the one from The Ordinary, Dr Sam's, Garden of Wisdom and more recently Theramid with no issue at all. By the way my skin is extremely sensitive and break outs when it gets bothered by anything.
    My favorite is the Dr Sam's. It's just next level on all aspects for me.

    • @PsiChotic

      I didn't like the one from Geek&Gorgeous either. In fact I tried probably 90% of their products and they either suck or are just meh. Which azelaic acid product from Dr. Sam do you like? She has two if I remember correctly. I am eyeing the Theramid one 😅 I am currently using an azelaic acid 15% cream from Isispharma, called Teen Derm AZ, but it kinda pills and I am looking for a replacement.

      @@PsiChoticI tried both Brithtly serum with 10% of Azelaic Acid and other actives. Nightly with 5% azelaic and other actives but in that one the main important active is Granactive Retinol not Azelaic acid since that one is an "anti-aging" product.
      For me both are great. For my acne and dark spots I just find the brightly to work better and quicker. For overall beautifying of the skin ( texture+ overall complexion+ reducing fine lines) I found the nightly serum to work better. I started results quickly but got my maximum results at 6 months. She also has a the nightly pro with a higher concentration of ingredients but my skin is so sensitive that I am scared to use it and I was satisfied enough with the lower concentration already. Hope it helps.

    I love azelaic acid. I could really tell when I skipped using it for about 6 months. I like the texture of the Dermatica one ( no piling) but the Paula's choice seemed better for my nose even though I don't have oily skin, seemed like the Paula's choice one shrunk to appearance of my pores better. But both really helped my rosacea.
    I'll have to try some of the others when I run low again.

    Hi Sarah I started many years ago with the derivative but get prescription 15% finnacea from my doctor now (for a couple of years). It has been a game changer for my rosacea and I won’t be without it. Obviously rosacea is a chronic condition and I still get flares but AA really minimises the frequency of them and keeps my skin really clear as a bonus (works great on clogged pores and texture as well as the redness). Pigmentation isn’t my major concern but my freckles have lightened up a bit as a bonus. I use it every day (either morning or night depending on what else I am using). I saw more visible changes in my skin from AA than I have with retinoids tbh. I don’t care about lines as much as redness and texture though so that may be why. I think it would be great for anyone as it’s so multitasking. For those with rosacea start slow and weak as it can prickle on the skin till it acclimates. Best wishes x

    Hi Sarah! Hope your pup is doing better & X-rays gave you some helpful info. Do you think a 15% A. Acid serum would be any better than the prescription 15% Azelaiac acid gel I use nightly before Tretinoin? (Tret for anti aging, A. Acid to help with age spots). I heard the two pair especially well together but haven’t noticed any difference from either active but my understanding is it can take up to 6 mos to see anti aging results). I thought maybe applying A. Acid as a serum with other ingredients, might help more since I haven’t seen any results from the rx gel but at least with the tube from pharmacy, I’m 100% sure I’m getting the active. Would love your input. I’ve been using .025 Tret cream for 5 mos, now use nightly & it’s time to up it to .05; maybe then I’ll finally start to see some benefits? Im 52 and my once beautiful skin is dull. (I’m so envious of your gorgeous brightened glow!) I’ve been using Timeless 20% Vit C&E ferulic for about 4 months; I manage to get it on about 4 days a week. I need to kick things up a notch. Thinking the red light fave mask they also make for neck, chest and hands? Starting to worry maybe my watching TV in the dark (insomnia) is destabilizing my actives although I’m told the likelihood of that is next to nil and I need to be more patient. Would love to hear from you if you have the time. Hugs to the pups!🐾🫶

    • @PsiChotic
      @PsiChotic 6 месяцев назад +2

      The 20% in Geek&Gorgeous is not actually azelaic acid, it's a derivative. It's probably the equivalent of 5% azelaic acid, so going from 10% with Peach Slices to 5% with the Geek&Gorgeous is not the best in my opinion. Unless you already know all this and just want to try the derivative, in which case, my bad 😅

      Not possible because azelaic acid is an insoluble powder (in water). If someone manages to solubilze it, the product will be $$$$$, because it is almost impossible to do. The derivative is water soluble though.

      The Cos de Baha and the Nineless (both are K-beauty available on YesStyle) are in a serum form. Cos de Baha is a more simple formula and contains aloe extract and hyaluronic acid. Nineless is a more robust formulation that contains snail mucin, glycerin, and panthenol, as well as all 4 of the active soothing compounds found in centella asiatica. Both in the $10-$15 range.
      The Drunk Elephant one is more of a gel cream texture (beautiful, not tacky or chalky) but also has some lovely hydrating and moisturizing ingredients if you’re looking to splurge!
