I'll give it this, not the best film in Sony's recent animated catalog but it's a step up from the live action films and is happy to see Mark Dindal coming back in the director'd chair after 19 years!! At least it did gave some entertainment with the dialogue to voice cast as expected for a Dindal project 👍👍👍
Since I saw this earlier on Sunday, the feature is honestly on the same level as Thelma from last week. Not the best film of the year, but gets the job done at entertaining kids and parents 😸😸😸
I agree. A lot of people are simply putting this movie down because of the tiresome argument of "it's primarily for kids." But I can say without hesitation that this is one of the better ones. It can be easily enjoyed by kids as well as adults. The characters, the animation, the slapstick comedy are pretty solid. The story may not be the most groundbreaking but at least it's an improvement over those terrible live-action movies.
@@DimitarKolarov-hy2ex Probably so. But as a casual fan who has yet to see the movie, I think it looks pretty good. But it has some heavy competition against Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. No doubt both of them are gonna crush the box office. I sense were going to get another Barbenheimer situation here.
I got to see this movie at nearly a week early on Sunday, and I loved it! It’s just as great and charming as Dindal’s first two movies, which makes me super happy! I really hope he gets to direct more animated films that deserve to be seen by everyone.
I have to give the movie a 6/10. We can agree about the animation and Chris Pratt/Samuel L Jackson. But I think the momentum went a tad bit uphill was the second hour with a certain plot twist. Jon being demoted to secondary character was messed up. The heist storyline just didn’t click for me. I found the comedic gags creative though. Mark Dindel directing is one reason I had hoped for the movie to be good. But being away for a while has made it obvious he lost a bit of his touch.
Main issue of the film was the amount of creative liberties it made towards the source material. But still enjoyed the film based on Mark Dindal’s slapstick comedy and characters.
Garfield the movie 2024 is like you said a good entertaining fun time with everyone's favorite lazy Monday hating cat and goofy dumb dog as I actually like the previous animated Garfield movies from the 2000's and if Murray was given a better screenplay to play off he would've been happier with the live action movies still a more fitting voice than Chris Pratt which I like the guy but besides Emmit he can't really voice act much compared to his fellow actors like Samuel L Jackson. I'm glad to see Mark D. Make another film after a long break from directing a movie after working on a chicken little movie nobody is happy they were involved with as it's a huge improvement from it and if he gets to make another film after this becomes a success that's good news to me.
I really don't understand the criticism of this movie. It was a decent time. I would rather re-watch this 10 times, over re-watching the boring live action films and the empty-void scatterbrained direct to dvd films
I'm a Garfield fan and this is my most anticipated animated movie of the year.

Seeing this on Friday. Hope it ends up being enjoyable…..

You were more respectful to this movie than rotten tomatoes and other critical websites.
And Cris Parker AKA @3CFilms

If the story was improved, the animation and gags would have translated into a better movie than what we got.
And the Executives are from Either Alcon Entertainment, Columbia Pictures or Sony
I hate executive middling. Especially nowadays

I actually like the live action movies 😅
8/10
Finally, another positive review. I mean, I'm disapointed about the film's reception.

Can't wait for the new movie!
I really hope we see more animated movies from Mark Dindal.
I’m expecting something more on Emperor’s New Groove level next time
Next Review: Inside Ultraman (Inside Out 2 and Ultraman Rising)
