I have so many memories of that mall, I lived in Costa Mesa in 1987, worked @ Denny's Corporate in LaMirada would go to the mall for coffee to unwind,😢
I used to go to this mall all the time as a kid in the 2000’s. I remember how busy it once was. The classic Disney store was on the upper level and was always packed, the food court was never empty, and the movie theater that used to be there had a constant flow of guests. I even remember my parents having a hard time finding parking there. Now you drive by, and the parking lot is just dead and empty. It’s really sad because this used to be my favorite mall. Fingers crossed the Cerritos and lakewood mall never close.
Oh yeah, if there wasn't a disney store it was a real mall lol that's what we always said anyways. I remember the few time I went to this mall is being packed as well and was surprised to see how empty it was when I made this video. So sad all the malls here in socal are closing or being re purposed. Thanks for sharing your memories I really appreciate it.
I was living in Huntington Beach after just getting out of the service when this place opened up. I remember it well. It was a great place to pick up chicks.
Lol most malls were great places to pick up check, I remember it well.
What's up Jeff? Yea, its really sad seeing these malls closing or dying. Growing up in the 80s and hanging at the mall was the best thing. Watching 80s movies and seeing everyone at the mall was crazy.
Sonny hey buddy 👋 yes it is a bit sad seeing all these malls closing down as I to spent a lot of time in malls when I was younger even got my first job in the mall.
Lived off of Bolsa Chica in Huntington Beach back in 81, loved going to this mall. Packed every day.
I've only been a few times but it was packed the few times I went.
I used to go to this mall for Summer Camp field trips back when John’s Incredible Pizza Place was still open. This is also the mall that gave me my most viewed Plush video. So very good memories from this place.
Oh very cool, thanks for sharing that with us.
Spent most of my childhood and some teen years in the 90s/00s here. Sad to see how unlively it is now.
But it's actually kind of crazy how many stores happen to not be there anymore when I went to visit in February 2024. More than half of these stores were already gone in the video I made! Had no idea that was a Zumies on the first floor beneath Bath & Body Works. And speaking of, it was funny to see the lights were working for "Bath" in your video lol and I agree.
Glad there was still some stores open when you visited, it felt like a complete ghost town when I was there.
Oh wow, yeah I recorded this in new years day this year but crazy how more than half of the stores are gone. Thanks for letting us know.
Thank you for the tour👍👍
You are most welcome Kimia
Thank you for sharing your adventure ❤🙏🕊️
You are welcome and thank you for watching and sharing.
I remember coming here in the 80's & 90's. Getting pictures taken at the studio at Sears and getting my son's one year pictures at JC Penny's. So many memories of this mall. So sad to see it go. 😢😢😢😢
Awww the department store photo studio, I remember taking picts at sears and JC Penny's to. Crazy how phototherapy Studios are notlw a thing of the past. Thank you for sharing your memories with us, we really appreciate it.
My first job was at this mall in 1985 Miller's Outpost where it was wall to wall 501 shrink to fit Levi's. I also remember how busy this mall used to be back in the day. I remember a hot dog on a stick, the fly trap, Judy's. Developers want to come in and build housing means extra traffic. Another Bella Terra. Fun memories of this mall. 😊
Miller outpost I remember very well. To bad they had to sell to anchor blue that went out of business. Thanks for sharing this with us.
@@909Adventures you're welcome 😊👍.
LOL Judys was my Fav...also the limited ...
@@sammyocgirl7411 my sister used to work for the express and I used to work for The limited too. I worked at The limited in Huntington center which is now Bella Terra. Rumor has it that they are going to knock down Old Navy and Burlington coat factory in Bella Terra Huntington Beach. To make more condos and apartments. Here comes more traffic. LoL 😆
@@user-iw9hi5wy6l and Ulta too...I use to go to the Huntington Center... as a teenager
The Broadway was my Fav....LOL..I hope they keep Macys at the mall...I hate bella Terra I wont go there ...only Khols and whole foods....
I only went their once around the mid 2010s. Years later I forgot about its name and I remember passing it by the freeway.
Years ago I remember how packed the mall is doesn’t have to be Black Friday or holiday season now it like that there use to have good store a dog store miss the era when me and my sister were kids my mom would take us to the mall hang out.
Yeah I remember any mall that I would walk into was packed and always busy. It's just the day and age we live in. Most malls will soon be gone unfortunately.
anyone remember Desmonds? down stairs next to macys it was a mens store..I worked there for about a month
@@sammyocgirl7411 nope I don’t remember
@@sammyocgirl7411 why did you quit?
@@909Adventures I quit cause...it was a mens store, plus i was on my feet all day also some men would get mad at me,,,cause I did not know what they were looking for. plus I got a better job,
Great video man
Thank you Robert I appreciate it.
Grew up at this mall! I was a 90s baby and remember late 90s early 2000s there! So much good memories in the food court. Going there with my friends after school. There also used to be a movie there we used to go too. Once sears closed in 2015 it went downhill. And COVID really whipped it out.
Yeah once sears went out of business it seemed to hurt a lot of places unfortunately and of course covid didn't help. It was the final nail in the coffin for a lot of business especially the mom and pop shops.
I remember in the early '80's this Mall was PACKED with people, you had a hard time even finding parking. Malls just aren't what they used to be, I have a former Westfield Mall just about 3 miles from my house and I haven't been in there in 20 yrs! It used to be the Family Weekend outing, in fact my Mom and Dad's friends all used to pack up all us kid's in the cars and follow each other to a "New" Mall and wander around in the Mall for hours then go somewhere for dinner. I buy almost everything Online these days other than Groceries.
Yeah same here, I remember going to our local mall just to hang out. Especially in the summer to escape the heat.
I use to love going there. I sure hope one day it makes a comeback.
It would be nice if malls could make a comeback but I doubt it, not anytime soon.
I went there yesterday at SKYZONE lol!!
Oh Skyzone is fun
@@909Adventures yeah it is fun
I guess there are a few stores that are going to hanging in there until the end 😂. Thanks for sharing, I’ve learned a lot the future of this place
There is always a few that hang on until the bitter end lol. Nice to see you in the comments.
So many malls are closing that it makes you wonder if Mall of America will continue to survive. One day all of these malls will be nothing but a memory which is really sad. They are like ghost towns now. It's wonderful to have videos like these though that will last forever. I hope you had a very happy New Years!
Happy new years Flo, but yea I didn't even think about the mall of America. I've never been but hope I get to visit it someday before it's gone.
My dad used to go to this mall back in the 80s, it was his hangout place with his friends
Very cool, malls where a place to hangout when I was growing up to.
Horrible to see this Mall as is... got my first He-man figure here back in 84 at Kay Bee Toys, spent tons of quarters at the Time Out Arcade, saw Hellraiser 2 Hellbound at the theater on the first floor by Walden Books where I use sneak Penthouse Magazines to the back of the store, played the first Sonic the Hedgehog demo at Software Etc, ate at Wendy's and Cinnabon every time I was here... :(
Wow you have a lot of memories here, I haven't heard anybody mention Key Bee Toys in a long time. Crazy how there are no toys stores around anymore. Thanks for sharing your memories with us.
I had so much time having memories visiting this mall
I’m kind of sad that’s this mall is going away
Yeah it's to bad that most malls are going away along with everybody's memories.
Traveled from L.A. to come to the only Guess clothing store in Southern California. Mid 1980"s. Needed that tight denim and upside down triangle logo.❤
Wow that is a long ways to travel but I guess when you want something you got to have it right lol.
I hope macys does not leave I heard they are staying....I go all the time...its so easy
😎👍
I used to go when I was like 20...I still go to Macys,,,,bath and body...and to the nail place down stairs,,,its sad I loved this mall ...
Thanks for the support 🙏
It’s kinda sad to see a mall that I’m currently living near being died down. I have a few very important memories here :[. The only reason it’s still some-what alive is because of the SkyZone on the 2nd floor and a few other stores, But other than that it’s still very very empty now. I used to go into this mall with my parents and see a ton of people at the shops.
Yeah it's terrible that all of our malls are disappearing. Thanks for sharing your memories with us.
cool
👍
Cool! Thanks!! Did you go on a weekend or weekday? And what time? Again, thanks for the video!
This was on new years day of this year 2024 and I went earlier in the day
I'm glad you enjoyed.
It’s west-minster not west-minister.
A minster is a church with a monastery. A minister is a government official.
Westminster in London, for which the city is named, is the minster west of the City of London.
I’m an OC native and was 9 when the mall opened. Spencer’s just closed this year which was the last of the original tenants from 1974. They made it almost 50 years.
You wanna see a dead mall, go to the outlet mall in Laughlin NV. Thanks for all the great videos!
Lol yes that is a very dead mall. I'm not sure why or how it is still open. I have a video from the Laughlin mall if you want to check it out. ruclips.net/video/qUe2tYc-U-Q/видео.html
Yes it's sad,but this mall hasn't been doing well for many years and especially since the majority of people flock to South Coast Plaza anyway. The samething has happened to the once popular Fiesta Mills Mall here in Tempe Arizona as well, it's being totally demolished currently. The future of it has been discussed as more homes and much needed apartments could be built on the site futurewise. Thanks for sharing this 909!!👍😃
I have heard and seen videos of the Fiesta mills mall, wish I could have explored it before it was Demolished.
I remember 3 years ago only once a month I use to go to this mall and I had so much fun, but today in 2024 it's dead
Yea, it's a far cry from what it used to be.
@909Adventures Yeah, I remember there use to be a Sears near the Food Court and There use to be The Children's Place near the elevators
I used to like going to Cinnabon but ever since it went up to $6 ($7+ if you get extra frosting) I stopped going. May be for the better... I am 64 now!
Oh yea, Cinnabon is good but haven't had them in years.
no way, but also I suppose not a surprise. I grew up here. I have A LOT of memories here. First one that comes to mind, is going to Candies as a Freshman in HS getting my white short cowboy boots with fringe. Got picked on at school, until suddenly the it was the trend two months later HAHAHA
Oh that's cool i don't think i know you were from the area. But sorry you got picked on,... it's hard being an influencer some times isn't it? 😳🫢🤣
who's an influencer LOL yep, born in LA and raised in HB/FV @@909Adventures
So sad i used to go there a lot as a kid and now it’s been empty and sad and now this? :(
Yeah unfortunately this is happening everywhere, malls are shutting down and being demolished and 8n that process everybody's memories are going with them.
yeah i was there yesterday to see if there any last min sales and what not cause i wanna support the mom and pop shops so they can get some money before it shut down and i saw thier opening an arcade in the mall im like why when next year it shutting down the mall i used to work down stairs at the johns pizza until it closed and relocated us last year to beuna park but i left for personal reasons
Oh very interesting, thanks for sharing
i want to go
Let's go
This is sad I'm 28 years old and grew up coming to this mall, when I was in elementary school my Mom would walk with me there across town to go buy toys and yugioh card tournaments, as a teen my friends and I would skateboard there from across town to check out chicks and we would always see friends and family there back then. These days it's so sad to see it in the state it's in and now bought out by a big real estate corporation 😢
Yes it is very sad to see what has happened not to just this mall but most malls everywhere. People's memories and childhoods and literally be demolished. Thanks for sharing your memories with us.
😎👍
Thanks white boy
👍💯💯
Thank you sir
I went earlier and what a sad state this mall is. This mall, Buena Park mall, La Punente mall, all should be demolished and become single family homes. What the use of mixed retail and condos/townhouses? Amazon and nearby Huntington Beach plaza on Edingner are way better than this purposed plan would be anyway
Yea, malls have been taking a beating lately as they are all disappearing.
We need to start a petition or a strike or somethings to save the Westminster Mall to make sure it doesn't close down permanently and bring back the Book Off location that used to be there and have both the Westminster Mall and Garden Grove locations open.
This is a great idea, not sure how well it will work but still a great idea.
@@909Adventures I'm glad you find it a great idea! Let's spread the word to everyone!
Covered malls are a thing from the 70s and 80 . Now, we need natural environments. We need to open up these buildings and let the sunshine in !
@@gloriaortiz1227 What are natural environments?
@NinteSegaRarew outdoor shopping experiences! Open up the ceilings of malls. Plant trees an d gardens. Create new parks etc etc
You are the double of Jack Black!
I'm only half the man he is but at least he's funny
I think you mean Buffums and not buffoons
You guys should put a shake shack In Westminster mall
Shake shack is still around? Had no idea.
