Swap Force is so underrated. I know it’s very different from the rest of the games but I actually really like that they tried something new. Imo its graphics are the best out of all the games, also the swappers are my favorite gimmick. Anyways good video 🫶

They actually put a boombox or how ever its called in the Traptanium Portal to make it sound so realistic, it actually sounds like they are talking to you! It gets used very well with Kaos -The boss fights, the boss fights are a lot of fun! The differences between all the bosses are fun and they gave more villians then just Kaos a big role in the game! -The traps, we all know why... Everybody loves to play as villians they trap! -The minigames to evolve trapped Villians, even tho some of them are annoying... A lot of them are fun! People call the game glitchy when I had like 0 issues with the game, like I never had issues with Trap Team but according to others its full with problems! I am someone who values level design A LOT, but also puzzles and story pacing. I got into the skylander franchise even before the release of giants and played the first 3 games as a child. Only playing the last 3 games for the first time right now. The level design in giants to me was really boring, hence why it is currently my least favorite, also because the story was very forgettable. Swap force had longer levels which i was okay with, but the ending felt rushed, also good lvl design. Trap team is probably my second favorite, and the two levels of superchargers i just played were really good imo. I think a lot of ppl like the 4th game the most cuz they grew up with it, and not with the first game? IDK. What makes the 1st game better to me than the 4th is the puzzles. The fact that half of the element gates in the 4th game contain ABSOLUTELY nothing is soo icky. Just a hat/chest, thats it. In the first game they designed a small puzzle for every gate.

Kaos’ theme from this game specifically is my favourite version. Also I love how he broke the 4th wall to try and go after the portal master (player) Playing as the villains is a cool concept but some of the villains are kinda lame.
I loved trap team growing up and i still do, i have most of the elements except fire and light trap masters and missing light trap, however it's really fun playing as villains and half of them feel better here than the imaginators version, i wish they kinda kept that forward in the others or at least put the trap on and play as them
imo giants is better lmao. In my opinion it has better levels, is more polished, more consumer friendly, has better music. Trap Team is pretty buggy, is full of stock music (roughly 40 percent), the roster, especially skylanders from swap force, are unbalanced (its not as bad as imaginators and theyre still viable though), the game randomly uses ssa and giants assets and its jarring, some of the levels are the worst in the series imo (screw golden desert lol). Also you need TWENTY FOUR figures to 100 percent the game which is absurd.
Ok so here are my few problems with trap team You need 25 figures for 100 percent, I don’t care about the pricing but twenty five? In most games you need between 8-15 figures, then the trap masters are discounted senseis, they just made them because they needed more gimmick landers, the villains most of them are forgettable, and even there are two doom raiders that are just there, there is not a single normal villain that only appears in his boss fight and that, they all appear as normal enemies at some point, yes even sheep creep (in Brock’s rumble arena) speaking about the arena, it’s really boring, no good music, the gimmicks repeat a lot, and you can cheese it with a villain, the only arena I like is the last one because it had new mechanics, no pvp, the doom challenges are just enemy spam, and there are so boring I used villains to finish them quickly, trap team has some great levels but also some that are the worst, Chef zeppelin has only one good thing, chef pepperjack, rain fish Rivera is BORING, telescope towers has the same enemies that monster marsh, secret sewers of supreme stink is one of the most forgettable levels that I’ve ever played, operation troll rocket steal is mystic mill 2, golden desert feels empty, and the ultimate weapon is the lamest final level on the series (without counting kaos), the NPCS are fine, I really like the new ones like buzz head wick and mags, but Flynn and cali, definitely feel different, they don’t feel like they did in giants or SSA and that was their best version and the academy is big, but empty, oh wait you have 5 bonus areas that feel like LITERALLY the same, the sky stones in this game is the worst version, you can’t lose a game if you use half cell of your brain, just spam broken sky stones and you win, this game has good skylanders but then there is: flip wreck, blastermind, trail blazer, tuff luck, some of the most forgotten skylanders… Ok I think that’s enough

Grill me if you will, but I really adore Trap Team, even with all of its flaws. It was one of the first times I got a game at release as a little kid, and that just added so much to the experience because, up to that point, I had to save for about a year after a game released until I could buy it, and by then, the hype was all gone. TT was the first game I really felt like I could connect with other kids my age about. Is it a buggy mess? Sure. Is it perfect? Hell nah. Is it my favorite Skylanders game? No, not even close (giants and swap force are 1st and 2nd respectfully). However, it’s a buggy mess that I grew up with and am attached to it, so I feel the need to defend it a little bit. I honestly like them all except Spyro’s Adventure (because I didn’t play it) but Superchargers was one of my favorites since it had a very good story and the levels were well designed

I went to see if the trap team characters play worst in superchargers and id use six characters and so far they played better in superchargers than they did in trap team so no the claim that trap team skylanders played worst in superchargers is not true as for imaginators all past skylanders are nerfed
Swap Force and Trap Team share number 1. 100%. Trap Team is definitely not better than Swap Force, but Swap Force isn’t necessarily better than Trap Team. Both are incredibly good games and definitely the best Skylanders games. Second place goes to Giants in my opinion, because I love spyros adventure and Giants took spyros adventure and just improved the formula. Third place Spyros adventure Fourth place Imaginators (haven’t played it but it looks pretty good from what I’ve seen) And the worst by far is superchargers. Car fights are boring, the collectible system is significantly worse than before, the levels (sadly) were incredibly well designed which kind of makes me wanna cry because Superchargers had great potential… if they just stuck to the formula and didn’t go for… vehicles… Donkey Kong and Bowser were very cool, that’s for sure… but besides that SuperChargers kind of really messed up everything. Besides level design and puzzle ideas (thinking of the Gong puzzle and how they made you find them and strike them in the right order) the cars just messed many things up, and the collectible system just wasn’t fun in my opinion. I ended up restarting the arena level like 30 times collecting all the chest spots and wishing stone spots and grinding it out until I got everything. Then the chapter thing was just… WHY? It worked so well!! And even if you wanted to separate just make people jump to certain points in the level (start, post mini boss / gate / … , and shortly before the end) but a chapter should always be a whole level. Swap Force = Trap Team > Giants > Spyros Adventure >>> Imaginators >>>>>>>>>>>>> … (imagine like half a million of these) SuperChargers
Having imaginators your favourite tame tells a lot on the consideration that you have on the skylanders brand. It is literally the killer of the skylanders idea: the first and only game that doesn’t let you play with your previous skylanders in higher difficulties because they are literally artificially nerfed so that you must pay for crystals and senseis. Shortest story of every game. Most money grabber game. Having blasted imaginators, I would say TT definitely is not a good skylanders game. It comes fourth after a masterpiece as swap force, and it has the combat system of ssa/giants. Very bad, you have big guys like enigma whose melee attacks cannot stun enemies, so they are tremendously weaker than those who have ranged weapons (lob star and gearshift to make an example). Very bad point. Secondly, trapping enemies is boring, they only have 2 attacks, there are so many villains that you never even try all of them. Thirdly, this game wants you to have a trap master of each element to open the elemental gates, but they always hide stupid boring rooms where you instantly get your reward (hat or similar shit) while even ssa had some platforming. Then, the design of many skylanders is quite ugly (torch, rocky roll, fist bump, bat spin, food fight, thread head and I can continue; they are absolutely passable if paragoned to chads like chop chop, camo, sonic boom, smolderdash, bumble blast, scratch, pop fizz, fright rider and I could continue). Just some of them should be remembered, like echo, spotlight and blackout. Last but not least this game has absolutely the worst game design: the skylanders’ moveset are boring, badly made (blackout is intended to be way more powerful but it’s literally badly developed and its second attack doesn’t stack, but it does in SSC and Imag), they wasted 2 upgrades (in some cases) into 2 combos while ssa had them in only one upgrade, the levels are boring, it’s a walking simulator, there is nonreal platforming challenge and the combat is a shit as I said. I know a lot of people who like this game, but it is cause of affection from the childhood I think. My favourite is SSA for this reason, my first game, but the truly overall best game is swap force, no doubt on that and those who don’t agree should play swap force first and trap team second. Then if they still don’t think swap force is a better game probably they should indagate what they have in their minds. It’s like saying soup is better than pizza.
Even though it’s my favorite game I also feel like it’s ok because say if you had a skylander(let’s use Spyro for example) that you loved Spyro in this game is basically useless because before trap team you could open a gate with a core, giant, or a swapper but for trap team you have to have a trap master

The talking portal and trapable villains really gave these toys more life than ever. And the roster wasn't bad neither

I honestly like them all except Spyro’s Adventure (because I didn’t play it) but Superchargers was one of my favorites since it had a very good story and the levels were well designed

I went to see if the trap team characters play worst in superchargers and id use six characters and so far they played better in superchargers than they did in trap team so no the claim that trap team skylanders played worst in superchargers is not true as for imaginators all past skylanders are nerfed

Trap Team Kinda feels like they made the game and released it its buggy laggy and it gets rid of the charm from Co-Op

Swap Force and Trap Team share number 1. 100%. Trap Team is definitely not better than Swap Force, but Swap Force isn’t necessarily better than Trap Team. Both are incredibly good games and definitely the best Skylanders games.
Second place goes to Giants in my opinion, because I love spyros adventure and Giants took spyros adventure and just improved the formula.

Fourth place Imaginators (haven’t played it but it looks pretty good from what I’ve seen)
And the worst by far is superchargers. Car fights are boring, the collectible system is significantly worse than before, the levels (sadly) were incredibly well designed which kind of makes me wanna cry because Superchargers had great potential… if they just stuck to the formula and didn’t go for… vehicles… Donkey Kong and Bowser were very cool, that’s for sure… but besides that SuperChargers kind of really messed up everything. Besides level design and puzzle ideas (thinking of the Gong puzzle and how they made you find them and strike them in the right order) the cars just messed many things up, and the collectible system just wasn’t fun in my opinion. I ended up restarting the arena level like 30 times collecting all the chest spots and wishing stone spots and grinding it out until I got everything. Then the chapter thing was just… WHY? It worked so well!! And even if you wanted to separate just make people jump to certain points in the level (start, post mini boss / gate / … , and shortly before the end) but a chapter should always be a whole level.

Idk man but SF is usually the favorite in my experience, TT really felt like a downgrade in almost every aspect tbh...

Having imaginators your favourite tame tells a lot on the consideration that you have on the skylanders brand. It is literally the killer of the skylanders idea: the first and only game that doesn’t let you play with your previous skylanders in higher difficulties because they are literally artificially nerfed so that you must pay for crystals and senseis.

Having blasted imaginators, I would say TT definitely is not a good skylanders game. It comes fourth after a masterpiece as swap force, and it has the combat system of ssa/giants. Very bad, you have big guys like enigma whose melee attacks cannot stun enemies, so they are tremendously weaker than those who have ranged weapons (lob star and gearshift to make an example). Very bad point. Secondly, trapping enemies is boring, they only have 2 attacks, there are so many villains that you never even try all of them. Thirdly, this game wants you to have a trap master of each element to open the elemental gates, but they always hide stupid boring rooms where you instantly get your reward (hat or similar shit) while even ssa had some platforming. Then, the design of many skylanders is quite ugly (torch, rocky roll, fist bump, bat spin, food fight, thread head and I can continue; they are absolutely passable if paragoned to chads like chop chop, camo, sonic boom, smolderdash, bumble blast, scratch, pop fizz, fright rider and I could continue). Just some of them should be remembered, like echo, spotlight and blackout. Last but not least this game has absolutely the worst game design: the skylanders’ moveset are boring, badly made (blackout is intended to be way more powerful but it’s literally badly developed and its second attack doesn’t stack, but it does in SSC and Imag), they wasted 2 upgrades (in some cases) into 2 combos while ssa had them in only one upgrade, the levels are boring, it’s a walking simulator, there is nonreal platforming challenge and the combat is a shit as I said.
I know a lot of people who like this game, but it is cause of affection from the childhood I think. My favourite is SSA for this reason, my first game, but the truly overall best game is swap force, no doubt on that and those who don’t agree should play swap force first and trap team second. Then if they still don’t think swap force is a better game probably they should indagate what they have in their minds. It’s like saying soup is better than pizza.

Even though it’s my favorite game I also feel like it’s ok because say if you had a skylander(let’s use Spyro for example) that you loved Spyro in this game is basically useless because before trap team you could open a gate with a core, giant, or a swapper but for trap team you have to have a trap master
