  • A plunge base that can be used with Dremel-type rotarytools. I made it with scrap pieces of HPL panel from a carpentry shop that makes furnishings for swimming pools.
I’ve also built an edge guide and a circle guide.

Very VERY well thought out and designed. In the USA this would be a $100 US for the base and then another $75 US for the guides. GREAT job! !! !!!

I had the company's router attachment, but it lacks rigidity, "precision", and it requires three hands to set the depth.

Another inspiring video, thanks. I like the look of the HPL, it seems as though it can take a threaded hole on the edge, which makes it much more versatile than MDF, or most plywoods.

nice man great work . on top of that you are light years smarter than all of Dremel. i do a ton of engraving so i bought a dremel plunge router base and unlike you they chose to have only one handle tighten which of course made it lean. welll after i was finished both handles now tighten do you find that as your engraving its hard to see where you need to go. i need a second base for another dremel so i was gonna use your idea but instead use a piece of plexyglass

Micromark sells a good set of carbide “fishtail” router bits for a decent price and they range from 1/32nd to 1/8th inch (and they’re really sharp.) Places like Whiteside also sell spiral cut carbide bits but they’re fairly expensive. You can find HSS Dremel router bits on eBay for a decent price which are sturdier than the Dremel brand bits; which aren’t HSS and can shatter with prolonged usage. You should also be able to find some good carbide bits on eBay too. Good luck.

Вот и я думаю. Лучше поставить дремель в сервант, достать старую советскую дрель (такую, в аллюминевом корпусе), сверла, толщиной с палец, и дедовское зубило. А дремели - баловство, зубочистки.
