    Hi all! please note this pannier set up is only for the later S2 (07-11) version of this bike. The S1 (04-06) will require the GIVI PL351 or PLX351 pannier rack. Thanks!

    What a great channel you have! I looked at it prior to buying a FZ6 S2 2009 in mint condition, and now it's time for a Givi rack for my holiday(s). Thanks, man! And, yeah!: The FZ6 S2 is a dream of a bike.

      It definitely is a dream of a bike! Congratulations on the purchase. You’ll love it. Touring will be brilliant on the FZ6 👍

    Nice video :-)
    One thing, if you have the S1 FZ6 (04-06) you'll need the Givi PLX351 Pannier rack to fit it.
    You need to take the indicators off the numberplate mounts and move them up to underneath the top box plate, so you'll require a bit of two-core wire and some crimpers and bullet connectors, but it's dead easy to do.
    Also the later panniers and top box are made from thicker plastic and are much more sturdy.

      Nice one thanks for the info! I’ll change the title to ‘S2’ bikes only. I agree later panniers are better. These are quite flimsy but still work quite well. And were so cheap! Ride safe 👍

      No problem. Just to let you know... the givi racks I talk about are only for the S2 model. You will need different racks for the earlier S1 Fz6. Thanks!

    Just passed and got my a2 license and I’m thinking about getting a fazer 600 as my first big bike I did want an r6 but doesn’t seem practical for the casual rider.

    • @FabMotorbikes

      Congratulations on passing! That’s awesome news!
      I agree with you. The R6 is a fun bike but won’t be practical at all. I used to have a Suzuki sv1000... it had very low clip on handle bars like the R6. It was great for a while but got uncomfortable quite quickly.
      The Fz6 is a great bike to have on an A2 licence (which I believe means you will have the bike restricted to 47bhp). Once you have your full unrestricted licence the horse power will pretty much double, and you’ll feel it!
      I also read that it’s very difficult (and illegal) to restrict a bike with the power of the R6.
      So the FZ6 is an all round great choice 👍👍

    Have you ever mounted soft pannier bags?
    I have some mounted real high so that they don't flap about but it just looks a bit noddy to me.

    • @FabMotorbikes
      @FabMotorbikes  3 года назад +1

      I have previously on another bike. But only because a pannier system wasn’t available for it.
      They work well but I found they slowly scratch the rear end of the bike, even if I installed them as tight as possible. But most of all it was the lack of security that I didn’t like (even though I know if some really wanted to get into my panniers they could).
      But definitely a great option if you aren’t too worried about the contents or can keep an eye out on tours .

    Hi Fabian, I installed the same luggage set with the same GIVI PL360 rack. But how did you connected the wiring of the rear indicator lights. Did this have to be adjusted? In advance thanks for the response.

    • @FabMotorbikes
      @FabMotorbikes  Год назад +1

      Hello! Yes these had to be adjusted but no electrical work was needed. You just a have to release the wires from almost all the clips that are holding them in place under the mud guard. This will free them up. However the tolerances were minuscule. And there was only just enough slack in the wires to get them where they needed to be cleanly.

    • @hw_moto8409
      @hw_moto8409 Год назад

      @@FabMotorbikes Then I don't have to extend the electrical wiring. That saves extra work. Okay thanks a lot for the information. I'm going to work on it.
