    You must have missed the packleader from AFR. You even said that there were only some old cards retroactively changed to werewolves that were not from Innistrad. But this one must have gotten enough points to make the list. It was central to monogreen aggro in Standard for almost a year. Which was one of the few decks that could compete with all the Izzet piles in that period.
    Three people brought this deck to World championship 2021 and one made it into to 8. That's 2 points. Did no one bring this deck to top 8 in any other tournament?

    Tl;dr: I'd love to see a top wolves!
    I have been WRECKING modern (okay, just doing better than it has a right to) with a mono green wolves-NOT-werewolves deck using some choice wolves, Ranger Class (arguably the best "bear" in the game) with 3 or 4 copies each of Druid's Deliverance and Moonmist. Having 6-8 fogs that also generate creatures or serve as removal, occasionally one-sided board wipes for just 2 mana is pretty nice.

    Ahh werewolves, if there's one thing not enough games have, it's werewolves. They're just so awesome. I've been meaning to build a werewolf tribal EDH deck but have just never gotten around to it, this video has finally inspired me to actually do it. Entirely off topic but I felt like saying it anyway, but I am giving up my Australian citizenship and defecting to New Zealand after our abysmal performance in the cricket game, it was so bad we left early. If they had just announced "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)" instead, I think it would have been better.

    Huntsmaster as a mid-range? It's good value for 4 mana, but it seems more like a pure aggro card, to keep turning out tokens or removing blockers.

    • @SirZapdos
      @SirZapdos 2 года назад +2

      Nah, it was a key card in the Wolf Run Ramp decks. It could gum up the ground and gain life against aggro but could also pressure control players. It held the fort until the deck got to 6 mana for Inferno or Primeval Titan

    • @woodysmith2681
      @woodysmith2681 2 года назад

      @@SirZapdos I guess if you ran enough ramp to get on Turn 3, it'd hold the line against pure aggro decks but Turn 4+ would seem a bit slow for 2 2/2s (with needing to save 1 of them).
      And yes, anything that makes tokens or does damage like this would be hell against a control deck if you could keep it in play.

    This is an odd idea for a top 10. I bet there are some cards that have appeared more often than others in various top 10 videos. I want a top 10 where it's based on the frequency of a cards appearance on your lists. Where the ranking would be this card appeared the most often, showing up in "X" many lists.

    Wotc’s handling of werewolves in the recent Innistrad sets was certainly not going to be an easy task. I have my disappointments with midnight hunt not truly being a Renaissance for werewolf tribal like I’d hope but I guess if it means standard and limited aren’t completely screwed by them, then I suppose it is what it is.

    • @vinnythewebsurfer
      @vinnythewebsurfer 2 года назад +1

      @@stevesmith5883 very true but it feels a bit off that not only does the new mechanic make trying to use both old and new werewolves sometimes unwieldy, you can’t even play some of the best new werewolves with Tovalar since they break color identity rules so no black, Boros or Simic werewolves for you.

    • @stevesmith5883

      @@vinnythewebsurfer Yeah i get you. I honestly forget the other coloured werewolves exist myself as I'm a big fan of only 1 or 2 colour commander decks so Gruul is perfect for me personally. Yh the blending mechanics can be a bit annoying but Tovolar fixes a lot of that. Probably could have been handled better yes but I'm still pretty pleased with how my werewolf deck turned out.

    it's both funny and sad how there are genuinely good and efficient cards among the tribe, with a couple of legit bombs
