    I have the same 2020 cement DC. I live in Alaska and made a trip from S. Carolina to Alaska in 2018 so wouldn’t mind going back through Montana again (when Canada opens back up). Any regrets with your GFC setup? Do you + kids fit inside as well? Thanks!

      Sounds like you are in a good place! No regrets with the GFC. Quality unit and it will hold value. IMO its really a 1/2 person max setup with all the gear. You can make 3 work but at the expense of comfort.

    Thanks for the video - glad to know you can put a little bit of bedding into the wedge tent when you fold it down! Super convenient and something I really like about my RTT. Also great catch! Fish on!

    Did you have to upgrade your rear suspension at all to accommodate for weight?

    • @JLeeChron
      @JLeeChron  3 года назад +2

      Not at all
      Measuring the front distance after install at the front wheels showed nearly no change.

    Does the GFC fit kind of narrow on the bed rails? It looks more flush on the Tacomas

    • @JLeeChron
      @JLeeChron  3 года назад

      Yes it does sit on the very inner side rails all the way around on the Tundra- good line of sight for the side/rear view mirrors. Probably better aerodynamics too.

      @@JLeeChron Nice. how water tight is the topper area for you? I had a DiamondBack HD cover on my Tundra that leaked really bad and actually put a little wave in my plastic rail covers so I hope that wouldn't make it more prone to leaking with a GFC

    • @JLeeChron
      @JLeeChron  3 года назад

      @@cc-hc1dr I haven’t had any issues yet with water leaks- its early though, this next year will be able to get a better idea. The rails are wavy with the GFC. The weather stripping is pretty stout though so far.

    I’ve ordered a GFC for my Tacoma. I will not get back window in camper and I want large doors on side. I wouldn’t of taken my OR stickers off. How long did it take them to install? I hope your unit has the new hinges, I’ve heard they has problems with the old ones. Can’t wait to get mine, have fun!

    • @JLeeChron
      @JLeeChron  4 года назад +1

      Eric Purser nice! The install only takes an hour or so, they really have it down. Any questions you have, extremely good customer service. Yes on the updated hinges, they are used on safes. Big upgrade from the older ones, which had QC issues.
      Back window is nice, better rearview mirror traffic watching, I believe all of them have the panels that open on the sides and on the back.

    oooo that new hinge on the sides is nice! I wonder what they call that hinge type.

    • @JLeeChron
      @JLeeChron  4 года назад

      Yeah its the deal apparently and they use them on large safes.

    Great video! Would you by any chance know what’s the height/clearance between bed floor and bottom of the GFC? Just curious if my dirt bike would still fit in the bed under the GFC.

    • @JLeeChron
      @JLeeChron  3 года назад +1

      45 3/8” from bed to bottom of rear cross bar in the Tundra.
      My mountain bike (L) just creeps by, doubt the dirtbike would. Maybe get creative though

    Can you still lower the back window? Planning to get one. That is my priority i need the back window accessible jus incase a bear try to eat me lol

    • @JLeeChron
      @JLeeChron  4 года назад +1

      DC has only a slider. Crew has the entire window recess.... GFC has fixed window, so no periodic cleaning or cab access for either.
      Alu Cab has optional windoors for that tho.
