Fantastic that younger people are still recognising and keeping alive the genius of these Guitarists. The number of people who can CREATE another really original solo of the standard of these solos seems to be one in a million.
To the amateur it may go unnoticed but after being a player for thirty years and nowhere near as good as this guy, i noticed how he not only played these pieces but became the players themselves! He got everything so spot on from the vibratos to the pick attack, even knoflers finger picking! These are things that make good guitar players into great guitar players.
@@Garstonk Even so, the Layla solo was really quite well done... transgressions aside, I defend the cover as a 9.8 out of 10... technically not all quite there, but superb nonetheless
Still, make you realize how well Mark played Sultans of Swing when even someone like this guy who is really good at playing guitar can't make it sound anywhere near as good as the original.
@Bitmapman Yea I saw that... Very nice. I was growing up with all of this on the radio, and then on my vinyl and cassettes. But this penetrated all consciousness and opened up a door to a place in my soul, a place called "Rock and roll?" I just remembered one great solo by TN... with Amboy Dukes. 60s though. Anyway, I have hope for the future if we have people like this. And like these kids: ruclips.net/video/f5iyIITGvSw/видео.html
What's most amazing is that you nailed a ton of intricacies in these solos. You weren't just playing the notes. You attacked them how the guys playing them did and that's simply astonishing. Mad props.
I literally do not even have words. I'm just speechless. Sir you are such a phenomenal musician in your own right. But as someone else said in this comment section, you not only played things perfectly, but you really channeled each guitarist. All of that would have been amazing in itself, but your choice of songs, and then the way you transitioned from one song to the other., the modified ending to the hotel california solo so that it went right into Sultans of swing.... the video editing. Everything... just literally EVERYTHING was perfect and more than that. Everything touched my soul. I'm not kidding, I dang near cried during some of those solos. You have a gift my friend. I really hope your video blows up and goes viral because you so deserve it. What a fantastic job. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Thank God I got to live every single one of them, and still listen to them, driving, at home, at work, wherever. Good ol' times when there was musicians doing some serious stuff. Long live rock'n'roll. Good job, mate.
When I started learning almost three years ago Comfortably Numb solo was one of my goals. Just when I was starting to think I was playing it fairly well I watched this video and I've realised how bad my version is. The video has given me some ideas on areas for improvement though.
theultimatexperience Well its ok if your not big into pink floyd, but the solos in comfortably numb are awesome because of the amount of emotion david gilmour puts into each note, instead of playing 3000 notes per second. Oh and I would recommend listening to full albums instead of listening to single songs by pink floyd. A lot of there songs end up leading into other songs. Wish you were here and dark side of the moon are two albums I would listen to from start to finish.
Well I just got home and I’m up after 60 hours of night shift this week. playin guitar. Learning a couple songs. Waiting for my toddlers to wake up. Tired as hell. Sipping scotch. This has been the best part of my long day. Thanks for lovin’ good music pal.
Great choices, superb playing and nice tones. Nice to hear both Felder's and Walsh's solos but my favorite solo of all time is on "One of These Nights". Still gives me goosebumps. Good job - keep it up and Be Cool.
Stunned! Who are you?!! You've got the chops! You played 90% of the stuff I hope to learn someday. I just started playing two years ago, and I'm sixty nine. I'm giving myself twenty years, and hopefully I could play half as good as you by then! :-)
