Tbh I say going down to 10 men is no excuse for losing at all...my team Tranmere as some of you may be aware on May 12th 2018 had a National League Play off Final game against Boreham Wood, for those of you that are unaware of the events that game, allow me to walk you through it. In the first 48 seconds Tranmere were reduced to 10 men after a 2 footed challenge...so pretty much for the whole game we would have to play with 10 men. 6 minutes on the clock and we take a shock lead, moments after that we use our first sub in order to have 4 at the back. On 33 minutes we use our 2nd sub for tactical reasons. On 45 minutes our Centre back gets injured and we are forced to use our third and final sub before half time and we have a Central Midfielder playing as a right back. Then on the stroke of half time Boreham Wood equalise to make it 1 1 at HT...so going into the break we were down to 10 men and had no subs left...it seemed like it was impossible to win especially after we'd already used up so much energy from the 1st minute...in the 2nd half we scored in the 80th minute and went onto win the game 2 1 and win promotion to League 2...so we showed that day that being down to ten men is no excuse to lose a game let alone 9 nil. Those Southampton supporters should be given a full refund by Southampton personally for that display.
If Southampton had scored ten, they would have won the game.
