Varanger - the furthest East you can drive in Europe - vanlife in the extreme North

- We have reached the Varanger Peninsula in the far north east of Norway. Our huge tour of the Arctic regions of Europe in our self built Mercedes Sprinter camper van is getting really serious now.
Our arctic preparations are working well so despite the extremes up here, we're safe and comfortable. Varanger is further East than Istanbul, only 20 miles from the coast of Russia and an utterly fascinating place.
We use Epidemic Sound for the music in our films;

How refreshing to not have advertisements every five minutes 👍🏻 beautiful videos in a beautiful part of the world. Subbed.
Thank you for watching and commenting. We agree with you… it is a stunning part of the world. We don’t have any adverts during the video simply because we don’t have sufficient views. Bitter sweet for us really😢🤣. Sarah
Those were some gorgeous looking birds at the end
They were John. There will be loads more in next week’s video. Thank you so much for keeping up with our travels. See you next week. Sarah
🙏
Great video, I did not know all the information about vardø and vadsø.
Thanks Alex. They are fabulous places, we can’t wait to go back up there.
12:14 Lucky you!
We were super lucky to get our stay free of charge.
Another great video and my wish to visit Scandinavia is still increasing. As someone carrying the name of a guy that lead the 1st trip around the world, and passionate for flying, I loved to know the history of the blimp crossing the north pole. At some point the road was so snowy, flat and empty it looked you already were there by the way.
Thank you again. We are so pleased that you are sticking with us. Your surname is perfect although I did have to look up the explorer in question because as British we know him as Magellan. Did he change his name or has it just been made easier for us British speakers to say? Sarah
@@diamondsontour It seems people like to translate names regarding to history and geography. He was Portuguese and was always Fernão de Magalhães, but Spanish called him Fernando de Magallanes and British called him Ferdinand Magellan. But I know the name is not easy to pronunce for English speakers, I don't remember any English word containing the same sound of "não" or "lhães". At least they named a lot of geography and astronomical things after him, in South America we have Strait of Magellan and Chile has a province named after him almost twice the size of Wales. By the way your king appears as Carlos III in portuguese wikipedia 🙂: pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_III_do_Reino_Unido
Brilliant. You are so right. I love the idea of Carlos III! I remember my first GPS device was a Magellan! Can’t wait for your comments next week! X
