Yes! The imposter syndrome is hitting hard :( Especially when you're building something from the ground up! We want to achieve everything NOW and do BETTER an BIGGER all the time! It;s hard to accept that things take time and we doubt ourselves. I made a video on the imposter syndrom too, that only proves how many people feel that way! Great video Amy, always loving your vibes :)
Love you Amy! You were my 1st mentor in this digital space. N yes you are on my personal board of directors❤️🤗😍 I am so grateful for you. Your videos introduced me to Gary Vee n Ryan Holiday as well n man I owe these people🙏 I am so thankful to find your channel in 2019 i guess❤️
Wow. I was having this exact conversation with my friend and she recommended I track for 7 days ways I am not an imposter. It took me more than 7 days (because of life), but I did it. It was transformational. I really love these tips for defeating imposter syndrome. I can at least vouch for #1. A few of my co-workers saw my posts and commented on them to give me positive feedback and support. I had several friends reach out to me expressing their own struggles with imposter syndrome. Your #5 was the final realization of my 7 day challenge (#1). Every time I felt someone was going to call me out -- they haven't. In fact, I came to the realization that at least I am trying to do #4 and I was willing to put myself out there just showed my confidence in my craft and calling. Great video!
Video was amazing. What I needed. I'm generally always trying to learn (master craft). I have supportive people around now (personal board of directors). Imagining the worst case scenario I do too often and it leads to negative thoughts so I tend to avoid that. It's a low self-esteem rabbit hole. Yes, I should be more grateful for what is working (ditch comparison culture). That could use work. What I could also work on is building my case. To record what I have accomplished and to remind myself that it is enough.
“Comparison is the thief of Joy” -Theodore Roosevelt “Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.” -Lao Tzu It’s truly hard & the universe loves to default at full chaos (entropy (S) The 2nd law of thermodynamics) but there is something profound to getting that foundation just right & then building up & out. Question of the day: definitely 5.
Yes! Master your craft. I am reading everything I can and the more I read the more I realize I already know. (Not that there's not room to improve, just that I know more than I think)
So, kinda feeling like your my Gretchen Rubin to my Amy. 😝. I never miss a video! This one was perfect. I started a blog last year and backed away, but am getting back into it now. Thanks for being a motivation!
Didn’t realize I had imposter syndrome until about 2 days after I GOT the supervisor job and started mentally questioning my interviewer’s judgement for putting me in charge of a team. 🤦🏻♀️ Definitely like the tip about diving into becoming a master and learning for yourself.
Tip 5 is something I really need to start doing! Sometimes we let anxious thoughts or cognitive distortions (like catastrophizing) bully us, so it is so important to take a step back and really think.. what is the likelihood of this actually happening? Thanks for the good tips!
Amy, what are your thoughts on doing office organization tips? I love the idea of all the potential gadgets and gizmos for organizing your desktop and drawers/shelves but all of the products can be overwhelming. I have a brand new desk I would love to get organized. Any tips or favorite products?
I know what I’ve been missing.....my daily dose of #AmyTv!!! Love your tips and videos Amy❤️. Not sure why your videos haven’t been popping up lately but I’ve been busy with all the things:). I don’t understand this imposter stuff but I wonder if that’s something I’ve been letting it hold me back...I think for me it’s worrying about what other people think and not feeling like I’m not qualified this year. I used to not worry about what people thought & it seems after my brother died by suicide I started looking at others and myself differently. Like seeing how people didn’t show up to be supportive showed how fake they are. I never want to be a fake so I just focus on my life and never go on fb anymore. It’s like I suppressed my voice. But I also think it’s bc Ive been hurt and just doing my own thing and not being on fb has given me control back to live the life I want without everyone’s opinions unless I ask someone in person. Anyways, yeah this just turned into a little aha moment. Haha. Thanks again Amy for being you & encouraging the rest of us! 💝
The tip I’m going to try first is imagine the worst case scenario. These are all great tips 💕 you seem to post videos on what I’ve been thinking about! 🤔 💭 but I feel that if I can imagine the worst thing, then plan and prepare for that... I’m all set! Thanks Amy!
Wow!!! I was JUST thinking about this today and was planning to look up a video on YT about it and your video just popped up in my notifications! So perfect! :D
Amy this is stellar advice! Imposter Syndrome can be detrimental to personal growth, especially for entrepreneurs! I have some videos on my channel specifically on how to get over Imposter Syndrome, would love for you to check them out. Thanks for sharing!
