Bitter, Bitter Sweet, my very significant other used to sit outside my house, with this playing on his 8 track player, when we'd had an silly little argument, my mom and dad would be laughing so hard, and ask me what I'd done to that boy, sometimes I'd go out, sometimes I wouldn't. Once he even came into the beauty shop, got on his knees at my feet, in front of everyone in the shop that day to say he was sorry, please marry me. Well we got married, had 3 wonderful children together, 2 boys, 1 girl, all mini versions of him, I named the 1st boy after him, he became BCB III, 2nd boy a BCB, and then our daughter BCB. Sadly though on February 7, 2000, I lost my sweet BCB. Thankfully I still have my not so little 3 BCBs though, I am thankful for the years we had together. Thank You for this video. I truly appreciate it.

Yes, this is soul, real black soul, these black sisters were so gifted. The lead singer pulled some damn notes in here only a black woman can sing. You have to be black to be a real soul singer. Blacks are blessed to be born with real soul, often imitated but never replicated. Sing it, my black sister.

SOULFUL. This is music that touches my soul. Those were the days when sisters had pure love in their hearts. It's not until you listen to the break-up crap that women sing today, is when you can truly appreciate the soul that black women of the 70's possessed. Damn. I feel like we let a generation of Beautiful Black women slip right through our fingers.

This is such a soulful, well planned, well thought out and well written song. The music is magical. The girl realised that she made the biggest mistake in her life when she chased her boyfriend out of her life. She regretted it bitterly for she realised that she still loved him. Then came their meeting by chance. and they just stood there looking at each other. She expressed remorse and accepted him right back into her life

I remember when I was about 12 years old I got this album.. I liked it for the album cover but I was shocked when I got it home and played it on my stereo how good these ladies could sing.. Listening to such a heavy song at such a young age. Really brought me close to Soul music.. if you ever find the original album you will be very pleased..

I KNEW there was a version where the singer screamed in the chorus to horn stabs...
I remember hearing it as a kid...
We want to cover this song and I LOVE Janis but i KNEW this existed...
    So glad I found it...

This song reminds me of one of the best summers of my life. We lived in an apartment building on Avalon near 95th street. A soul food restaurant on the corner and the House of Burgers on the next corner. The girls in our apartment building played this song everyday and I never got tired of it. The Three Degrees were awesome! People like Deloris and Wayne,Donnie, Dirty Red,Sharon,Junie,Maria,Tanya,Ms. Doris,Paul,Tumbleweed,

I am only familiar with one hit they had. So many, many recording artists have been one-hit wonders. Diana Ross had more than one hit with and without the Supremes. Dusty Springfield was a big talent with world hits. So many others like them, with a career of hits, were great entertainers. Tina could hold the attention of stadium audiences. Dionne Warwick is still singing, after decades. And who has had a #1 hit in every decade since 1960? I give up, you got me. She's still singing. Mary Wells. Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton. The list is endless. They are all remembered as entertainers who had many hits.
