I bought an x-maxx last week and it came with the upgraded hubs already installed. I think if it has an X at the end of the model number then it's been upgraded, not 100% sure but seen a few comments about it.
The servo might be my choice I hate the stock ones

Built a full Alu7075 Vitavon xmaxx. Front and rear complete Alu inc bulkheads front and rear upper and lower. All the arms and everything else Vitavon make. Looks awesome.

Finally he fixed his xmaxx I've been waiting for it a long time, and the sand paddles really helps it to be more off road just look at the dust formation in the air.

I’ve been away from racing the same kind of time. And now I’m looking at £1000+ bashers! That was a sub £500 category back then lol!
Kev, you need to ask a rc car company for a sponsorship on you monster truck!
You gotta get some deployable wings that pop out the sides when you jump....add a 20 kg servo, make them triangular shaped, get some maximum distance! Kind of like those soaring suits where they have gussets under the arms to get lift.....
Would have been cool to see that snowboard setup with the dual 8s on a length as close to a normal xmax as possible just to see what it could do.
That setup was awesome!

I would like to recommend a Traxxas stampede it is one of the best 1/12 scale rc cars for bashing. They're a little slow but you can upgrade the motor to brushless and the battery to a lipo. I would like to see what you think about it.

Yeah what you are saying about weight, yep, it's physics. Not to mention the Ally bit can transfer force to places you really don't want to break.
