The Harrier's have what's called 'puffer' jets, one on each wing tip, and one on the nose and one on the tail that help with the balance of the jet when it's in a hover. Check out this page, it gives a pretty good explanation www.harrier.org.uk/technical/How_Hovers.htm
SWEEEET PLANE! Years ago one of these beauties did a demo flight at a Blue Angels show at Pensacola NAS. Pilot must've been nervous. While demonstrating a sweet hover & vertical landing, he forgot to deploy his gear. BELLY FLOP! Embarrassing and EXPENSIVE.
An engineering MASTERPIECE!
Favourite plane of all time, the sound of that Rolls Royce Pegasus engine , amazing 👍
Likely the best filming of a harrier demo on RUclips. Great job!
Thank you!!
Beautiful video V, just beautiful. Great camera work. Oh yeah... Thanks for posting and greetings from Slovenia, Pilot Robert
Thank you Robert!!
Amazing
I remember watching this happening in real life for the first time! It was loud, but nonetheless awesome!
Wow. They don't call it a Short Take-off for nothing that's for sure.
I hope they do well in W.W.3
Awesome!
Nice one!!! :)
Can the jump jet run a telepathic guidance system the jet knows what it's doing before you do
dang sweet exhaust trails, light 'em up!! 2:503:244:57
I love jet noise, but not that thing. It's a total skull-splitter in vertical modes. I had to spend some close-range time with it.
How can it stay in balance in the air?

@@oldfucker68 Yup, Actually from what i recall america bought harriers from the british and they used it alot till the f-35s started rolling out. imo
@@FoxWithTheAngels 2012 was the start of the phase out
And the F-35 is a copy of the Russian Yak-141
USA copies more kit than China!
TRYING TO LAND, YOU'D BE BLOWN OUT OF THE SKY.....

Keep the AV8B .. junk the F35
It’s so nice to see someone still flying harriers a shame the marines are replacing them

There sure is. When it's turned off and parked in the hanger
