- Do you need to Replace the alternator on your Jeep Cherokee 2014 to 2019 but don't know where to start? This video tutorial shows you step-by-step how to do it!
Our Jeep Cherokee (2014 - 2019) manual covers petrol and diesel engines, and includes videos for some of the most common jobs, which you can see here in this playlist. Get the full manual haynes.com/en-...
What's covered:
All Models - Front-wheel drive & four-wheel drive
2.0L DOHC 4-cylinder
2.4L SOHC 4-cylinder
3.2L DOHC V6
Hold on, Looks like this vehicle has an electronic parking brake. So you're saying unhook the battery before you activate the parking brake? Am I missing something?
I just noticed that after removing the belt and way after disconnecting the battery, the video says to get in and apply the parking brake. Pretty sure since it's just a switch, it's an electric parking brake and this should've been the very first step. Cause now you have to reconnect the battery, set the parking brake and re-disconnect the battery again.
Is it the same for a 2014 Jeep Cherokee 3.0 Diesel?
Could you list the tools and socket sizes?
Is this the same for a Cherokee Trailhawk Elite with the turbo?
What else do I need to remove in order to get to those bolts easier
Do you have one for twenty nineteen grand cherokee 3.6 engine
I am still stuck on the 2 alternator bolts that are facing the engine the angle they are at is hard for me to get to
My nitrile gloves always bust when I'm working in tight spaces also...
Does the Jeep Cherokee 2014 need an AGM battery (Varta F21) ?
Not sure about Varta specifically but you will definitely need an AGM battery with at least 700 Cold Crank Amps
How do I remove the air filter housing?
After you remove the 10mm bracket bolt just pull up on the housing and those 2 posts will pop off the rubber grommets.
What the hell did Haynes make this video for? Do the 3.2 L V6 engine, that one would require a video, not the 2.4L. Getting two hands on the alternator HA not a chance, this v6 is pissin me off
How did you get it off??
@@austinpellegrino2174 I Removed the AC compressor and had to refill it
@@matraz10 I agree. The 3.2L is an entirely different animal. I hate the videos where they don't specify the engine because it's a completely different process between the 2.4L and 3.2L
I’m stuck HELP, I removed the air box and battery now my parking break doesn’t work, I don’t know what to do, I have work tomorrow
ok the 2.0 is not compatible with this video as it's on the back side of the engine not the front.
I just had a bad alternator on my 2.0 multijet engine. do you know what needs to be removed to remove the alternator?
engine mount on passenger side and cv axel you can sneak it threw there out the wheel well @@leszekpiotrowski954
Just jack the car up with hoist duh
8 & 10 mm for air box
16mm for tensioner
13 mm for alternator bolts and not
I did not need to loosen the ac compressor to get it out either.
How did you get a socket on the bottom left bolt? I have an AC line blocking access.
@@cppbam1 We've got the same issue and cannot get the bottom left bolt off
@@maryharper2347 I ended up having to jack the car up and loosening the ac compressor. It was not easy.
@@cppbam1 We've got it jacked up and unbolted the ac compressor and it is not budging at all. Took the 3 bolts off of the ac compressor and nothing
@@maryharper2347 there is a bolt you can access from the top. I had to RUclips the removal of the ac compressor to figure out how to get to that last alternator bolt. Don’t know if this will help you, but after I replaced the alternator I realized the whole issue was low oil level. This engine consumes oil very quickly
