Cooked 4 chicken halves and a rack of spare ribs today. The chicken turned out excellent and the ribs were pretty good too. Almost burned the ribs up though🤣 Not bad for the first cook.

Academy Sports put them on a 4th of July sale for $199. I did not need another smoker, but could not pass up the price. I could not find any bad reviews on it and folks seem to love it, so I'm going to give it a try. No electronics, just old school smoking.
My wife tells me all the time that I don’t “need” another “smoker”. HAHA but when you find a great deal like that, it’s hard not to justify it! Thanks for watching and hope to hear your thoughts about the PBX!!
Same here Dale. I was only going into Academy to see how a particular firearm felt in my hands. Then I go pass the section with the bbq pits and seen the PBX on sale for $199 with an MSRP of $400. 😳 I absolutely could not pass on that deal. Mind you, I had a $100 gift card so my total came to $116.

I saw 3 of them at Academy today! Very good cooker for $199. I passed on this one because I just got a Weber Performer about 2 weeks ago.
How do you like the Weber? I have heard the quality is really good!

I just saw at Academy for 199 also. But my question is … is it too big? Mostly cook for my wife and I and when kids come to visit I’ll have a group but on reg basis it’s just 2 of us.
Hi there! Thanks for watching! If it’s normally just you and your wife the regular 18.5” PBC will do great! It also holds more than you realize, especially when hanging the meat! Have a great weekend and grill on!

Ill use the lighter fluids, but i do not cook until all the coals are burnt out no black coals on my weber
Ill make a pile in one conner put on starter fluid light it let it burn off
Then run a 10" fan on the charcoal
Until i get them all glowing red none black, then ill use wet wood chips over the coals after they burn out ill add more. Yes it smokes a lot but it get real deep into the meats.
Ill cook off to the other side of the coals and vent over the meats.
I use the hot smoke to cook with more then the flames.
