Thanks for that, I have calls to government offices everyday and they can barely hear me on my wireless headset and feel like I am in an office full of electrical signals that may interfere with my audio signal and call quality, and feel like the government are using antique audio call devices, and just felt like with all of these issues, wired is the best solution to all of this
All of these headsets have such disappointing, muddy microphone quality. It's fine if you want noise cancellation, but I have a quiet home office, and what I need is top-notch clarity. Do any of the headsets offer that? Or does the audio improve if you disable the ANC?
Hi Aron, any headsets with a noise canceling microphone will sacrifice a bit of mic quality to gain the benefit of reducing noises around you. Below is a link to a headset with the best mic we've tested so far (skip to about 4:06). If that doesn't sound good to you, I couldn't think of anything better to share. In that case you may want to look at using earbuds/headphones and a desktop microphone, or picking any headphones or your choice and getting the ModMic (video at 2nd link) Best headphones mic: ruclips.net/video/gkWBiYVXsFQ/видео.html ModMic: ruclips.net/video/Tut1KDa_S3M/видео.html
Just ordered this. Thanks for the review. In your video, I'm not a fan of the sound through the mic and I think it's the ANC. Can ANC be turned off? I'm most in quiet environments and I think the mic sound would be better without ANC. Thanks
@@djoulydaniel9224 it’s great. I’ve also got the Poly Voyager 4300 series that are both wired and wireless. I use them more, partly because they protrude out less on the ears
Yes over time these parts will wear out the silicon headband is usually very durable but the life is usually 2-4 years. Btw if you want to find out which headset has the best noise cancelling mic we created a voting app check it out if you have time vote.headsetadvisor.com
I just bought the Poly Blackwire 8225 and I got them today, I'm not sure if there factory defective or not, but the noise cancelation doesn't work. Would you recommend the Voyager Focus 2 over the blackwire 8225? I work from home and my neighbors make a lot of noise. Especially the dogs :P
Hi Alex, it's a toss up if the Focus 2 would block out more noise if the 8225 isn't. You may want to look into the Evolve2 75 here ruclips.net/video/_2hTL7bU-sE/видео.html
The best options we've tested to consider would be the Epos Impact 1000, Orosound Evo (coming soon), or neep.com software with just about any headset of choice.
Nice, another promising wired headset. Agree mic quality is bassy not tinny. Can you do a head to head comparison review of logitech zone wired vs Poly 8225? Btw, how's the clamping force of logitech zone wired. On the zone wireless, it's a bit too strong for for comfort for me
I bought Logitech wired zone headsets. They r not working with my Android smartphone which has a USB-C port nd supports audio over type c port. I was told that they would work. Can anyone help me out
You say full working day, but did you actually wear it for a full working day to confirm comfortability? Doesn't seem so. Extremely lack of detail on comfort. Personally, that's the biggest negative mark against on-ear sets compared to over-ear sets.
Hi Jonny, thanks for your feedback to help us improve. Explaining comfort is very difficult because it's so subjective. Half of people will say on-ear is best and the other half will say over-ear is best, so we decided to put the info out there and let you all decide which is best.
@@HeadsetAdvisor That's a very fair point. However, it's just my opinion, but it couldn't hurt to interject your thoughts on it while also being mindful that it's subjective to each user. Either way I still enjoyed your review.
Sounds like you may want to go with a USB condenser microphone or something if you want the best pure voice quality. Any headset that adds noise canceling with the microphone will give a slight sacrifice to voice quality for the benefit of reducing background noise to be heard clearly.
@@HeadsetAdvisor I've got a AT2005USB, a dynamic, which works decently well but I just don't like having something in front of my face any more. Also, I need to be fairly close to it all the time. I'm only a teacher, meaning I don't produce anything fancy--a headset like the ones reviewed on your channel should be more than enough--but they sound so damn bad! I bought a J K Headworn MIC-J 071S, a cheaper alternative to a Rode Headworn or the truly pro theater mics, and I'll see how I get on with that. The J K is cheaper than many of the conferencing headsets, so I can't understand why mic quality isn't better on those. I still really appreciate your channel--thanks for it.
The headworn didn't work out as it needs to be powered (such as through a transmitter beltpack) so I picked up the Jabra Evolve 40 that we already had at work out of necessity and everyone says it sounds great. I give up.
We bought it mainly because our two staff members share a big room, and during meetings, they struggle to focus due to the noise from other people in the office. Our priority is finding a microphone that can effectively block out surrounding noise during meetings.so the focus on speakers not the mic any suggestions?
Want MORE noise cancellation? Try neep noise cancelling software free neep.com
I love that part that you are in the actual office. Cool office btw.
Thank you!
When it comes to quality audio, wired is always where it's at.

You could add AI noise canceling software here krisp.ai/?ref=headsetadvisor
