I remember Poeta from the IKWF days when he was with highland park little giants. Remember him in the finals against Jeffery Broadway, Poeta was quick. So many urban myths about Poeta he was a legend before highschool. Someone told me Poeta would go state to state on a private plane for other club state finals. Not sure if true but those were some of the myths. Would have been cool to see him verses Tannenbaum, that was always the fantasy match of Illinois. Two of Illinois best. I remember IMAR from the IKWF too. Back when the wrestled for Fox Valley back in the days. Those were fun times. Wish Tannenbaum would have wrestled for Illinois.
Wow, great video, I know Mike Poeta well, great guy, amazing coach, his wife Caliie is so cool. m\My kids went to his club. Saw Jake, Caelin, Dylan, Danny Pucino grow up from boys to men. Proud of all of them.
Oh stop. It’s because back in the day when he was tearing up the NCAA you clowns were probably asking him for his autograph. Now like everything else you turn your backs on him. You probably do this with your sports teams. No loyalty anymore…..smh
Great coaching staff but they need to invest in some facilities. With the in state talent that IL has, it’s a disgrace that this isn’t a top 5 program.
If Dean Hamiti and Braxton Amos had a better head coach, they would probably be NCAA champs. This is coming from a Wisconsin fan. If only Lee Kemp would coach WI.
