- Roland Martin joined Linsey Davis on ABC News' Nightline to discuss the controversy surrounding NBC's Megyn Kelly.
Martin explained the fundamental problems with Kelly's initial defense of using blackface, how bigotry has been used in America to make Blacks feel "less than" and about how whites have used cultural appropriation to enrich themselves off of African American culture.

Don't think she is a racist--she has black friends. But she did say she could learn and apologized, which is good. I miss the interesting guests she had on. Now the hour is silly. So people can't apologize or say they want to learn--even if they are in the media? Others have made mistakes like this and still have their shows.Today, we are not allowed mistakes. Maybe she was miscast but miss the topics her show covered and they were important. The network should have taken the opportunity to continue the dialogue after Roland Martin was on. Her show gave a platform for the METOO movement which was good. I would have continued watching to hear others like ROland Martin. I do think there are those out there watching who could have also llearned, along with Megyn Kelly. the network messed up.

Megan does not have to apologize, she is 100% right. people of color who portray that image, portray it often in a negative light, where ignorance is the order, which has become a social order, look at the accepted music genres.

I see no problem with human beings expressing characteristics of other pigments, derogatory role play exist due to a lack of what Roland said, a sit down and discuss, then can come only in time by the right brokers.
