  • This is how I charge the batteries of my Harley Davidson Sportster Iron 883 (2021) and my Vulcan EN500 (1997) since January 2022. I use Harley Davidson 1-Amp Battery Charger.
    For Harley, I use "12V AGM" Mode.
    For Vulcan, I use "12V Norm" Mode.

    I have the same charger for 2023 heritage. I dont think I've ever seen pulsating green, just solid green.

    I have this been using it for a couple weeks now. Now when I plug it up it stays on battery polarity without being plugged into a bike. It’s just the tender

    @RitoGuzman-rd2kd Месяц назад

    Question...How long does it usually take for the battery to be fully charged? Or does it just depends on the bike you have?

    • @lonerider1976
      @lonerider1976  Месяц назад

      I charge once a week or 2 weeks. So, to charge until full, usually not even half an hour. Maybe shorter.

    I do all the steps in the video, put it on 12V AGM for my 2018 street glide special and it flashes green then red again and again for 30 seconds to a minute then the charging light shuts off and so does the AGM light. Then all that’s on is the orange light for the power button. Not sure what the issue is.

    • @Leopardfist
      @Leopardfist 8 месяцев назад +2

      I have the same issue. When I plug it in, there is not mode lit up, and pressing the Mode button does nothing unless you hold it for 3-5 seconds, at which point ALL the lights light up and the third 12v light is blue. If I do nothing it does this scenario where it flashed red and green for a couple minutes then goes nothing but little orange V on the left. If I cycle the mode button once after they all light up, it moves to 12v normal and does the same thing. I also tried 12v agm with same behavior. The book describes that orange light as a sing the battery is overcharged and the charger is on stand by, but i know mine is low and the modes arent working right. The only thing I can think of is my charger is on a 50 foot ext4ension cord, so tomorrrow I will try to get it closer to the ou5tlet.

      Depends what type of battery you have in it, if it’s a newer Harley it’d be agm. If it’s a cheaper AutoZone or similar battery that’d be a flooded so 12v norm.
