Never was in SF, but a lot of what's said is deep in the Infantry. When I was stationed at Fort Irwin as OPFOR, I learned quick how much of a dirtbag unit I was in. All kinds of favoritism, laziness, power trippers, cry babies for being in the field more than 2 days, you name it. It was so bad, as an E-4, I had to tell my Platoon Sergeant, Platoon Leader and 1st Sgt off about procedures in front of the Company (and I didn't lose my rank over it, because they knew I was dead right). Had to teach my "Squad Leader (E-6)" on basic MOUT training and where to stack based on the design of the door. And they tried to deny me going for Selection in 2002 after my orders came in. I chewed them out, call my SF recruiter and they shut all the way up (yeah, they didn't like me, because I grew up in the military prior to serving, so I knew a bit). A good reason why they really didn't want to drop the hammer on me (they could have) is because I had a library of the dirt they were doing that would have buried their careers if I were to sing them high notes like Mariah Carey. Fort Irwin (2/11 ACR) was that bad in the early 2000s.
