Get some focal and JL in there lol. I was running some 6.5" jl c3s but I recently swapped out for some Focal Flax 6.5. They sound amazing. The detail and accuracy these speakers have amazes me every ride. In case anybody was wondering I'm pushing them with an Audiocontrol LC4.800. Very nice amp 👌🏽
Totally agree Josh get some Focal and JL on there. I have had the Flax 165mm splits you mention on my desk where i am sitting now in custom piano black boxes for a year. I revised the boxes for them about a year ago and made the slightly smaller enclosures i have now cause i had other Focal speakers previous to the Flax. Everything i hear through Focal speakers has more detail and accuracy than anything else i have heard. The previous to these Flax where some 165mm Focal Polyglass V1 and have had them for 10 Years and they still sound superb after all that use and are back in my car where they started off for another few years with a Focal Solid Amp driving them. Focal is the best in SQ in the world in my opinion, love both pairs have.

Im using the Ds18 Pro Exl 8" midrange & the Ds18 Pro EXL84NB Neo 8" full range. These neo's are no joke, by far the clearest and loudest speaker I've ever heard.
They're expensive but definitely worth it!

I made the mistake of buying cheap speakers when I first got into car audio. The QC and frequency response/SQ of these speakers are hit and miss. After switching speakers around multiple times wasting money and ripping my vehicle apart repeatedly I finally broke down and paid for Hertz MLKs. Only regret is I wish I wouldn't have cheaped out the first three times. Sometimes speakers are more expensive simply because they are better, Hybrid Audio make true SQ speakers and have very little marketing. So it's not always about marketing. My advice for any body building a system for SQ don't cheap out. If your mostly going for SPL or want better sound than stock then yeah most of these speakers are will work just fine. If you really want to test these speakers against higher priced speakers then run a sweep with an RTA and graph each response. You will see the difference.
Please play these speakers compare each one to the others pick the best based off Price, Performance and Quality.

Actually it would mean "nothing" Each speaker works best in another volume of housing and the car interior is important too...
Check your budget and just choose your speaker according to dimensions, look and overall feel of reviews.
In the end, you will never know which speaker would be best.
And a mediocre speaker in a good install and dsp/setup will sound better than a very good speaker thats installed badly

Hey bro I don’t care what any of these people say! Your rite there are a lot of different companies that don’t get the advertising or have the money so they can bring you the quality without the price gauging. Keep it up I like what your up to. Thx.
It's not always in the magnet, I've a pair of SL - C6.2 Rainbow Components and there magnets are somewhere in between. Best speakers I've invested in so far. Previously, I've used Pioneer, Alpine, Infinity, Orion, Kenwood and Cadence (not necessarily in that order). Proper wire is also important but you don't need to spend big money on them. I have purchased 14 awg from an audio shop which wasn't too expensive and did the job fine. Amps are a different story all together, good speakers need to be complimented with a good amp (in my opinion). With my Rainbows, I matched them with a Hertz amp which I am happy with. Speaker placement and proper use of Sound Deadener is another must that some people leave out.

DS18 with Super twitter is a damn beast. Installed on my Road Glide with a Soundigital amp. I can do 90mph and the music is still loud enough to hurts my ears. Amazingly the sound quality is clear

I was a huge Rockford fanboy when I started off with car audio, I bought a pair of their pro 6.5s and 1.5 tweeters but felt like I wasn’t getting the best bang for my buck. I switched over to four deaf bonce Arnold 6.5s and two T25 neo tweeters on a AAK201.4D and man this setup is louder than the two Rockfords 6.5s and four Rockford 6x9s

Im telling you man i love bass midbass vocals and highs and i like you had bought lots to try but in 10' in 6 i have tryed prvs ds18 jbl audiopipe orions and faital pro . On the 6 the ds18 burn the fastest orions the loudest faitalpro fe200 cleanest. On the 8 18sound and beyma loudests cleanest allways. Ive tryed b&c on 10s and love them so will love tho have some small ones for a sq build i want to try

I have a set of Cobalt CM65 midrange pushed by a XTR500.4 and im very satisfied with them, stay away from the Cobalt line of amps(unless you get them dirt cheap) but Cobalt speakers seem to be good quality.

Marc Graf most of us are just getting into the car audio game. I was scammed $250 for door speakers install and when I went to a legit subwoofers installed today for half that they told me to never go back to that shop because they did a shit job and give me $12 speakers.

I'm gonna be running off my head unit and I need good component speakers it doesn't matter if they lack in bass I got 2 subs. Does it sound like someone is putting their hands over the speakers? I ask that because that's how I describe Bose speakers 🤣

Yea I got 2 hx2s and 2 tweeters mounted on the pillars of the door I need a replacement my speakers are 18 years old kenwood dual mag components in the front and rockford fosgate fanatics 6x9 in the back time to replace it's been a hell of ride for those speakers. I heard orion was clear but in the video he has the one I dont want not a fan of built in tweeters. I also heard infinity ref-6530cx was good but I'm not sure about running 3 ohm speakers when I have a jvc kw-r930bts and 4ohm 6x9s in the back idk if that would cause major problems. Do the orions sound better than infinities?

I love the DS-18 6.5in. I've experienced them in action in all my friends cars. They're really loud in my opinion, I'm going to replace my Kenwood's in my Acura Legend with them and use a 1000watt 4channel to run them with 6x9 in the rear

Good starting point but even though they are mid to mid bass drivers you should have also emphasized that each driver should be installed in the recommended type of enclosure. Some may say free air but that’s a lazy way or no other option way because like subs an enclosure for the most part can enhance the overall sound immensely.
They are mid range not mid bass. No enclosure needed maybe a plastic pod but not sealed enclosure. The crossover should be set at 125 hz
If it’s in a pod that’s considered an enclosure. It will make a difference believe me.
going to do a new Best Mids? the Orion XTR-654 Neos are a BEAST. way better then their old versions they were redone for 2021 (( 300 RMS Each! )) i want to know your thoughts.

I’m a Rockford type of guy. I’ve been using them for years . I still have my P3D4-15” from 2001. They still hit hard plus I can’t seem to find them anymore.
I like the quality of the speakers and the company itself is easy to get in contact with.
I even have A P3D4-10” along with a Rockford T2 power series which I need to recone.
Oh by the way. If you don’t want the Rockford, I can put it to good use ! 🤪✊🏿

1)The best budget/ loudest 6.5 speakers ever made were the 6.5 power acoustic pro neos. They were $45 each! and would blow away these speakers! but now discontinued..
2. The best 6.5 speaker is the bayma neodymium pros. Alout cleaner than the power acoustic neodymium.. but more pricy $150 each. Loud and sound quality!
3) ds18 absolutely suck balls!
And copys other companys technology but adds lower quality parts period! Born in the flemarkets.
4) prv audio for 10s 12s are great
There 6.5s and 8s are up there but not as good as bayma 6.5s or 8s. But there 12s can take aloud of power and sound good. Im talking there high end 10s and 12s...
5. B and c. I would only buy 21" woofers from them and thats it.
6. Sundown. Great for subwoofers but there 6.5s and 8s never impressed me.
I have had and installed every brand you could ever mention. old school new school you name it.

I mean I could use some 6x9s. Been building my system for over 2yrs now and I can’t find anything that works for me on my rear deck. I got 6.5” up front on a 2way full range and 6x9 in the deck right now 3ways but they seem like trash. Hifonics. Anyways. 15” sub on a Orion amp low pass and the 6x9s on the deck on JLX amp on full range along with a 8” sub on full range in same amp. On a JVC kdsr headunit.

Hey Mike you should get 2 doors from the junkyard and sound deaden one of them and not the other. Then play the speakers in them so we can get a good comparison.

You are right about hertz. I’ve bought 4 speakers from them and one it’s burned. And then I ordered the tweeters from ds18 and I was impressed. So now I bought another 2 speakers mid range ds18 6,5.
About time someone willing to put in the time to check out the speakers. I'm torn on where to invest my money, cuz there are so many. I only need a good, quality, budget friendly 6.5/6.75". I just wanna know what sounds good and clear at loud volumes.

One woofer a MTX 24'series cost me $8k the amplifier MTXRFL4001D $1800
Custom built box for subwoofer $500. Plus another $600 for installation and wiring components.Upgraded the battery and alternator I got the red cap optima gel battery and higher output alternator $1,200 for both installed. Then I needed more mid sound so those door speaker components $400 and to make my doors and trunk door sound sealed proof $600 and to add two more speakers to existing door panel is $400 +$200 installation. Total cost I have no idea sometimes I needed a week more to pay off the equipment. System sounded really loud is been 8 months now I thinking of adding another MTX subwolfer but I'm not sure yet. What I've come to find about myself is the louder the system is, the more louder I want so I'll never be fully satisfied with my current car audio system, and I'm not sure if other people are like this when it comes to the car audio system or just me. I'm 43 years old and work for myself as a electrical service. Stay Safe

This was a really good idea because it is really hard to find somthing good with out spending big money then u spend big money and are very disappointed I’m watching now in hopes to find better mids that I can see in comparison to others again really good video keep it up

I don't understand what or how you can call this a review. Isn't most of what you are saying is , " this is nice" or "good build quality" , or quality is not bad.....or This build is nice. Or wow nice...nice. Big come , good and nice. Or very expensive but good and very nice. Dude, your title says to stop paying for crap, but if none of them or crap or you can't tell us why anything is good or not as good or any actual info whatsoever then your not reviewing anything. You should call the title of your youtube....speaker showcase.....that is CAR AUDIO SHOWCASE OR SPEAKER SHOWCASE. THIS is what you are doing. You are showing differnt speakers , what they look like and the cost. That's it. That's all your doing. And if they are all "nice$ with build quality ranging from "not bad" or "good" to "very good" or "very nice" and the magnets being "monster" , all while naming the prices and juggling the differnt manufacturers between your hands.....then that's perfectly fine, it's good to know how much different manufacturers cost. But this is still NOT A REVIEW SHOW NOR IS IT WHOWING ANYONE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CRAP OR NOT CRAP....please change the name of your channel to reflect the actual content. Maybe even as simple as what you are doing , It might even be named -6.5" car speaker buying guide first qtr 2021- and that would be as accurate as it could get in a name. I bought a truck came with 2- 15” Orion pro bass all built in
And 3- Orion amps to power
Question I have 4 speakers 6.5” and 4 tweeters system sounds amazing I’m running with the new 9” pioneer DMH-WT76NEX which allows many custom Tunes
I want replace the older Orion speakers with the HCCA654NHP 6.5” Super ultra High
The system is some 15 years old but is very clean sounding
Would someone that knows more then I , think replacing the 6.5 doors speakers give me a better quality sound ?

What do you think about the Focal speaker set that cost $1,200? I’m thinking about getting them. I heard them and it was exactly what I was looking for. Absolutely jaw dropping sound. Is there anything else that sounds like them but not $1,200 for 2 6.5 speakers
