Torah is the constitution of the King of the universe. It is not a book of religion. There is civil government demonstrated and taught in it for keeping law and order. There is a time for peace and a time for war. You cannot protect your family from adversaries who are openly hellbent on your destruction by being a passivist. War is terrible and hard especially to peace loving peoples. Sadly when war comes to them, they have no other choice but to gear up and fight to ensure the threat is eliminated. They do what any responsible leader would do when murderers kick in the front door…..there is no negotiating! Eliminate the threat.
