  • A basic function demo of the 1975 Syntorchestra. For the three years I’ve owned it, this machine has been excellent. But recently, the E’s have stopped working on the poly section. Still sounds absolutely electric and singular and wild. Recorded into Cubase with a small amount of delay (DL4) and reverb (miniverb ii). No EQ, compression, or limiting.

In good shape yours!!! It seems your top octave generator missed the top"E". Farfisa sent out two versions of poly gen. boards for SO, the G.I.E. version that uses Yamaha ic AY-1-0212 and the Texas version that uses TI ic TMS3839, both chips are scarse nowadays. Both chips fit in sockets so you dont need to have solder iron skills, just replace! At your service ;)

I sold it 3/4-working to a friend for a friendly price. He sent it away to be repaired where it promptly sat (largely ignored) for ages… like more than a year, I believe. But I do believe the strange issues that plagued this gorgeous machine were finally solved.

@@Paulcvids ok. I think you have several other instrument to comfort you ? What was the problem, I'm curious (but don't really know a thing. I had an organ with octave problems and solved it with luck)

Maybe In the future. I currently have a Fender Rhodes mark 3, farfisa SO, Farfisa compact, Crumar DS2 and ultra rare Uni-vox mini Korg. All the synths I resurrected from the dead.
