It is indeed. It's alright- it definitely has its issues, but I got what I paid for. There are some quirks. Unlike most 8 string basses that have an octave guitar string for every bass string, this one has double bass strings on the D and G. It's something that could likely be fixed with enough effort, but I don't mind it and I find it gives it an interesting sound character. Along with that the output is INCREDIBLY low. When I use this one on stage I have to use an EQ pedal to boost the volume, otherwise it's simply just too quiet. Once again, something that could probably be fixed with some time and effort. Overall, it's a decent instrument. Build quality is fine, but not notable; the electronics seem alright despite the low output; it's just about what you'd expect for a knockoff 8 string at this price point. If you're looking for an 8 string and you're willing to sacrifice some quality control and have some possible quirks for a lower price, they're worth a shot. Otherwise, I would recommend saving up for a legit, quality 8 string. It is worth nothing that I have 0 idea how consistent the companies are, or heck, even how many companies there are making these ones and if they're even legitimate offers and not scams, so be wary.
