If your budget is a hard $200 and under, this could work as a beginner drone or backyard/park flyer. Good review, you covered all the pros and cons. Thanks for sharing.
I believe this drone has a major flaw, that's why there are so many reports of crashes. Mine felt too. Luckily, the drone wasn't very high and felt on the grass. Unlike DJI drones, this drone shuts off the motors if the throttle stick is held in zero position for 3-4 seconds. Just one stick, straight down and not two sticks down and inside or outside, as other drones do.
Definitely a great drone to start with if you’re just starting out and don’t have a big budget. Shooting in 4 K is really not an option but the other modes look decent for basic video. It’s good enough to not discourage you in getting into drones! Thanks for reviewing this Jack!
Agree Jack, for a beginner and the price it's great. Something i always say, start with an entry level drone. Once you learn how to fly and actually like flying drones, then by all means upgrade. 👍
Also I think it's important for beginners to ask themselves if they should buy any drone at all. I know about 25 people who enthusiastically bought DJI mavics and minis and a couple buying other brands but similar category drones. Only three of them are using their drones frequently and the rest were flying a handful of times and their drones are collecting dust.
I think the biggest draw back to this drone is the camera the lack of adjusting with lighting really sets it back but overall a pretty decent budget drone
You are always finding these budget beauties. One of the few channels that covered the Fimi A3 when I had one. Like you, I searched high and low for a decent DJI alternative. Slim pickings, but every once in a while... This is a wiser buy than a Mini 3 Pro, at least until you know if this is a hobby or a passing fancy.
For the accurate information and the professional dedication that you put in your channel I was expecting something like millions views and far more subscribers!! You deserve more popularity!!!
The Cfly Mini 2 is "out" ... saw 1battery = $239 , 3battery $325 ... sorta getting into "DJI Price range" (used Mini 2/SE price) It is sub 250 gram drone, Cfly Faith min 2. Promises a range of 5Km, 31 minutes of flying and 4K@30FPS video, (not sure if the Mini1 batteries will fit the Mini2) I wont be supporting Cfly anymore, until they show some "good faith", by enabling at least video to 4k@30 FPS on the Mini 1 with an update. I always "see" what "good deed" a "company" will do for their customer.
Same here, I purchased the Faith mini when it first came out on a promo, and I am very disappointed, they have clearly already stopped supporting this drone given not a single firmware update or refinement has come out since it's release.
I am waiting for my drone to arrive.... While i wait.. can you let us know if its true that with the latest update, the drone can now do 4k@30FPS... 2.7k@30FPS , 1080@60FPS.... ?? EDIT/UPDATE: I am unhappy with the 4k@15FPS. .
@1:08 you said it will get about half of 3000m ... You are incorrect about that part.... most drones don't deliver close to what they promise, but on this one.. they are right this drone gets over 3,400m , easily 2,800m I'm glad they didnt PROMISE 4,000M and we end up only reaching 3,500m ... this looks BETTER for Cfly that they offer 3,000m and we get OVER that, instead of way-under (1,500m).
Nice review. I agree with everything you mentioned, especially on the price. You can’t ask for much at this price but you could ask for 30fps at least. Not sure why they didn’t add it, as its the standard frame rate on most cheap mini drones in this price range. Hopefully they’ll add it on the update they have coming this week as I’ve been told.
If you really want to learn to fly then you should get a drone on which you can turn off GPS and fly in altitude hold mode. Or even without altitude hold.
It's half of 50fps so should play ok on many devices, this video is 60fps which makes the footage seem choppy. If it was a 50fps video it would have been a better demonstration of the drones output.
Great little drone just got the DJI mini 3 pro but looking for something to learn with to build confidence looks like the perfect drone for the job only worries iv got is BANGGOOD IS THE COMPANY OK TO BUY FROM ? THANKS FOR A GREAT REVIEW
bought mine for a week ago and had my first try well it connetcet to 12 sats but didnt fly stating now ready not sure why .. my problem now when i try again today its not connecting to the remote.. cant seem to figure out when wrong
@@justso1823 i am not sure in what way you mean because in the account its not finding the drone not even the control is..as i said before it only worked once..
I read somewhere it can fly higher than the dji mini 2 500 meters and can max out at 800 meters . Has this drone still got the capability in the settings for 800 meters . Thank you 😊
@@HalfChrome Alright, thanks for the bad news. I will look into modding it somehow, by installing another 2.4 ELRS transmitter inside it. Probably not worth it, though.
@@HalfChrome Post editing to enhance the colors is a real pain on that mini computer I have. And of course it's 25fps only. I do admit the C-Fly gives a little bit more confidence. I never calibrate the thing. But I do have to pull the stick all the way back in order to brake in time. Now if only those damn Chinese programmers got the follow-me right! The L200 Pro Max is simply the best under $100 drone right now. I can't use the sticks in follow-me mode unfortunately. And no homepoint update in the app. But it works quite well actually flying it manually from my bike. Maybe you can try that? I don't even use the phone. Calibration is nice and quick and it gets satellites pretty fast too. This makes it a nice selfie drone for your bike trip. I have not tried optical flow yet. That could be even faster to get a picture. The whole reason why I started with drones in the first place. So I don't have to get off my bike, walk 100 yards to put a camera somewhere, walk back, ride past, walk back again to pick up the camera, walk to my bike again........ But if I do use the phone I don't have to keep it in the controller mount. The advantage of WiFi instead of a cable. If you then tie the small controller to your handlebar life is easy. I just wish it was possible to connect two rc's left right for full control!
You need to have an active internet connection on your phone in order to activate this drone. Turn on both, the drone and the remote and let them connect. Then plug USB cable to the phone and confirm data USB connection, not only charging. Start C-FLY2 app and click on start flying. It took me several tries like this, before I got an activation prompt.
I just ordered this drone and wanted to try the official CFLY GO APP out on my phone but it wants to force me to create an account, but I can't create an account because it keeps asking for an ID which I don't have yet is their a way around this? Because I don't even want to make an account yet until I can try the app out also drone wont arrive until December anyway ? Or is their another APP I can use with this drone that does not force me to make an account ?

Thanks. Can you think of another option under $200 this good?

Yes
The video of the L200 Pro Max is much better. The C-Fly has longer range and is faster (wind).
