On the other hand, I think what you do is a tremendous service to many like me, who take your opinions and insights very seriously. You have a pristine ear for music and the devices that we use to listen to music. What I especially appreciated about this video is your breakdown of both the good and bad of both speakers, something which you typically do but in this video it is particularly apparent. So I would say please continue doing what you do because when the time comes and you're gone, you will leave a tremendous void. 100k soon. you deserve it. the sound of the diamond box is clearly better, more refined, detailed and equilibrate. indoor will reveal. i'm quite sure that JBl in some of his products include a DRC to prevent distortion. And thanks for the KZ ATE test, I bought one. not perfect but quite decent for the price. undoubtedly worth it.
Most comparison channels on youtube only compare the bass really.. At least Oluv is honest about all the details and not only the bass. Just keep what you're doing man, i really dig your channel.
I think the dispersion issue is due to the woofers and tweeters being somewhat placed in a sound guide rather than flat against the front of the baffle, like the diamonboxx.

I actually found that it is a bit easier to judge bass on my large speakers. Headphones make things sound nicer in the bass :) As for the premiere - just do it if you want to. People can simply turn off the chat if they don't want to read it!

Unfortunately it died once, Amazon sent me a new one that died again in a few months (I read is a quite common battery problem) so I returned it and got a refund. Now I was thinking about buying a minirig mini, but I found a good offer for a UE wonderboom (60€). What do you think about the UE, will I regret my P2 sound quality? Would you suggest something else? Thank you again, you are doing a fantastic job.
yes the Wonderboom is crap compared to these, I would get a Minirig Mini for sure, then you also have the option to add a second one for stereo and the sub. the 2.1 setup will kill anything else in this size and weight class.
Clavinet What is the max db volume on the partybox? I have the boombox and was looking into the soundbox2 but for the price i think the partybox will be enough for what i need.
The diamondboxx is such a beast although i wish they went a little easier on the peaks in the higher ranges . The low mids are great on there though and where the JBL lacks that saturated punch .
Technically not soo, cause if the Diamonbox II sounds full, it would have low end like the Partybox 300, I’ll choose my Party box 300 With my lights & Bass any day
I think the diamond box has clearer, less distorted, more refined sound. It sounds comfortable doing what it does, whereas the JBL (which I love jbl) does not sound natural and clear at all.

how does the JBL PartyBox compare to the equivelent Sony speakers? I remember the Sony speakers having quite a bit less treble than almost every other speaker and it had cone tweeter speakers like the JBL
All I know is I have 4 Awia exos 9's that I still love after all these years. The key is to eq it properly with my phone and to roll back the stupid firmware that totally ruined the sound! Again, I have 4 so I compared the original firmware with the suggested new and even my wife asked why the speaker lost so much punch with the update. I don't know how the newer ones are set up but with the originals the firmware absolutely ruins the product. Thank goodness I had the old firmware on my computer because their site offers no roll back! Anyway keep up the good work!😎

Now the newer models supposed to have I believe a new power supply so that might change things but as an example with my situation before the update if I put my phone volume at a quarter way up it was the max I could comfortably tolerate. Of course it never distorts it just lets a too powerful. With the update I could go at least 2/3rds and it still didn't have that forceful punch at all. As mentioned I have 4 and updated all 4 at once not knowing this would be the case. I knew something wasn't right when I first listened with the new update but figured it was what it was. I them saw a post like I am describing on javi's boom box channel and figured out how to roll back the stupid firmware on just one too compare and boy o boy was I pissed. I had the wife and friends give a a/b comparison and they all said the new firmware didn't even sound like the same speaker. I had figured that with the lower amount of punch was maybe made too further refine the sound quality but because all 4 speakers were rolled back and I wasn't aware I could go on my computerand roll it back, I couldn't compare at the time remember, Iowa doesn't option on their own site to roll it back it had to be saved on a computer. I always have the speakers themselves at max and adjust with the phone. You can see with me spending so much time writing this how annoying it was because now the speaker sounds fantastic! With the new firmware they sounded nothing special. I also usually play them in stereo set up as a hifi unit and they sound 20 times better than one alone. The sound stage is incredible. The sound comes from the middle of the speaker and not the speaker itself like using one. A matter of fact it might sound 100 times better using two and the fact no wires or power cord is just nuts!

The best is binaural mics. Sennheiser makes a pair but it is a lot of money 300 or so if you only want to do a couple of reviews. There are some cheaper stereo usb mics for laptops or even phones but the cheap ones have unknown frequency response. Of course the mic on a good mobile phone is ok for basic low volume comparison but is severely limited in bass and high volume tests. Roland make decent pair of value binaural mikes for around 90 usd.
...Great review as always but Oluv, salty people will always be salty...not even word mentioning. About the test, at low levels i have to give probs to jbl...high levels the diamond box wins a bit back in volume but again jbl suprise's me bigtime ....two partyboxes puts it almost (still cheaper) in the same price ballpark. I know you have only one but it would be great to see that comparison. ...and what if you put the partybox horizontal?
The tweeter used in the L2, Dayton ND25TA-4, is good for clarity and off axis response. The problem is that it needs to be tamed a bit. In the L2 its sounding too sharp and owerpowering. It needed to be toned down more.

Why?.... Speaker Toni does his own good reviews, even outdoors. His comparison between the Phantom and Vifa Copenhagen indoors was very nice. Phantom is way to expensive.. A few years ago Oluv did a review on some Devialets. In april......lol

Soundboks 2 is louder and very clean up to maximum but it sounds quite weird at normal levels, also mono.

All 2nd gen DiamondBoxx use our own proprietary drivers, woofers and tweeters. They are not Dayton.

I own a Diamondboxx L2 and the distortion at max levels is unnoticeable if any... I would call and make sure you didn’t get a faulty one.
You probably just play some country: it’s quite noticeable with heavy tracks
I own the L2 also. Best sound I've ever had. I don't push it to it's limits though.

i have once again listen with headphones (skullcandy crusher wirreless) i can say for sure the jbl's diskant sounds like a kitchen radio next to diamondboxx thats the only thing i can tell that are "bad" about the jbl speaker.
